I am actually going through this with a situation where I am trying to make myself be better than I have been in the past (i.e. my whole life) and be more grateful and less paranoid/negative-outcome seeking...for lack of a better description....sometimes I chase opportunities away by being too controlling versus accepting....

@bucstime1270 i know exactly what you mean. Its good to be able to reflect and make adjustments to try to get a better existence for yourself. I have to remind myself to be grateful at times.

"if its meant for us" I dislike this way of thinking, that means someone has chosen it for us or we chose it for us before we came here. The former sucks cause it means there are entities deciding things for us, the latter sucks cause if its true then I have no memory of it. I think nothing is "meant" for us cause life is open ended, we have the power to choose if something is "meant for" us. It's like in Lord of the Rings, elves envy humans cause humans can shape their own destiny, elves are bound to the world and the ebs and flows of the world. Anyway, not here to say you are wrong, I just don't see things that way (you are really cute, I wouldn't mind just sitting and listening to you philosophise like this).
