An example of how prestigious Crimean Khans were in Ottoman imperial court: When someone met the Sultan, they would kneel before him and kiss his hand or hem of his garment as a sign of respect, obedience and loyalty. However, when Ottoman sultans met their Crimean vassals, they would stand up from their throne and hug the Khans, even calling them their brothers. Even the Grandviziers, who were second to the Sultan in protocol, weren't welcomed like that. Of course, their place in protocol was changed to be equal to the Grandvizier after the failed 2nd Siege of Vienna. Also, Sultan Murad IV actually tried to murder all of his own dynasty (whom he considered incompetent and corrupt) and leave the throne to the House Giray. We could see a Giray Empire if he was successful.

If im not mistaken the Giray dynasty at some point was also a guarantor dynasty to the Ottoman empire. If somehow the Ottoman dynasty could not provide legitimate heir to the throne the Giray dynasty was supposed to step in and be the Padisah of the Ottomans basically Giray dynasty would lead the Ottoman empire. Once my grandfather told me that there were 4 kind of people in Crimea back in the past. Muslim tatars, Christian tatars, Jew tatars, Shamanic tatars... and they all lived together in peace, without arguing or fighting with each other. Nowadays, Tatars who migrated from Crimea to Turkey (in the end of 1800s) have become mostly Muslims. Tatars who migrated from Crimea to Turkey played a major role in the development of modern Turkey between 1930-1980. They were more educated than Anatolian Turks, they were experienced master farmers, they were interested in art etc... They also had some traditions as like not letting son or daughter get married before they get wealthy and got enough education. Therefore, Crimean Tatars were more educated and richer in society. But for the last 40 years, the Tatars have been assimilated and become ignorant like the Anatolian Turks. There is no difference anymore, also Turkey has entered into collapsing period. The reason for the collapse of the Crimean Khanate was actually the Ottoman Empire... When the Russians began to unite and become stronger, the Crimean Khanate warned the Ottomans and asked for permission to attack the Russians. But the Ottoman Empire does not allow the Crimean Khanate to attack the Russians, saying "we need to turn our face to west". While the Crimean Khanate, together with the Ottoman Empire, is giving a war with European countries and is worn out as a military power, the Russians are getting stronger and are waiting for the right moment. And when the Crimean Khanate becomes weak, the Russians attack and commit genocide. By that time big part of tatars fled to Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey... and some of them continued to stay in Crimea, but were assimilated by the Russians. They speak Russian, they write Russian, they sing in Russian language, they get married with Russians etc...
