Actually, Juneteenth is real. It's a newer holiday they made up to honor freeing slaves during the American Civil War period. They really should've named it Emancipation Day or something like that so people would actually know what it's about, but leave it to the government for clarity. And the only reason I know about it is I get off that day at work!

Juneteenth was a Texas state holiday that was made a Federal holiday in order to pander to a voting block. You don't see Patriot Day from Massachusetts become a Federal holiday because it doesn't fit the narrative.

Reminds me of some of the conversations I had as a teenager with the church youth group my parents made me go to where they bring in adults and they would try to talk to us about dating, sex, etc. They were a combination of being clueless and making you want to be anywhere but there at the same time, and since that was the late 80's and early 90's, those were in between the lectures on how rock music was the devil's music and we would get the whole "play your record backwards" thing. We used to laugh because we all had cassette tapes by then. Even better was this born again Christian/hippie that my mother knew who was a cross between Jerry Falwell and Tommy Chong.
