When Timeshares are Your Permanent Home... Timeshare Traveler Episode 206
What is it like to live in a timeshare full time? What are the life changes you need to adjust to? What are the downsides from someone who has done it? What are the costs and how does that compare to buying or renting?
In this video, I will address all of the above questions. I[ve been living full time in timeshares for over two years. I've lived in timeshares while traveling and even while working a steady job. Hopefully, you will find my insights helpful. Perhaps I will see you at one of my timeshares. Or maybe this isn't right for you and you will make the decesion that is right for you.

Thank you for the kind words. I focus on content and not so much on marketing or being sensational. I’m glad I get to help people.

Hey Cliff great video! I am taking advantage of a vacation club tour soon for 4 nights at Westin Kierland Villas for $199 and the week after exchanged my timeshare for a 1 week stay at the Marriott Canyon Villas in a 2 bed villa....time share travel is great.

@@timesharetraveler thanks my kids are excited to try out the new water slides at the JW Marriott Canyon Villas...as u have recommended I use my amex Bonvoy brilliant card for all purchases and rack up points with promotions as well. Also it is great that Bonvoy points can be used at Las Vegas properties huge plus!

Hey Cliff, I am a fellow full-time timeshare traveler. I find staying at the same location for two weeks makes it a little bit easier of the constant move-in and move out, have you ever tried this? Also in your monthly budget do you include any resort fees, and exchange fees that you may have to pay?

I do include some resort fees. My $500 exchange is more than I normally pay, so it was a guesstimate for exchange fees. I’ve been moving more than most to do reviews. Plus I stay five nights and use two free hotel nights on weekends (when timeshare points are the highest). Get the hotel points from owner updates. I’ll be doing a few multiple week stays in October as I done all the local timeshare reviews.

Incredible loophole for California, obviously it would be less lucrative for someone in Missouri. As far as equity, the vast majority of appreciation comes from land. $4,200 - $1,900 = $2,300. You could buy a lot outside Daytona Beach every two years with the savings.

Yes. California prices make this approach unique. FYI, I am a real estate investor as well, so I look at the saving as directly increasing equity in the properties I own. But I also do this for the adventures available. It has two positive perspectives.

Even if there were more timeshare fees added in to get you equal to rent, the utilities cost savings and such really can be a lot. Then there's just the cleaning / issues scale too. Timeshares are more responsive to issues than most rental places, and worst case scenario, you're going to move units either at the location or in a week or two cause you're changing locations. How much would it cost for a weekly cleaning at an apartment / house? I'd say IME that would run you close to $300 more a month.

Cleaning was meditative for me and I thought it was funny 😄 to realize I no longer clean. I’ve moved my meditation to the hot tub 😎😎😎. But you bring up a great point. Guessing it would cost $100/week minimum for cleaning.
