Great video! I would like to add a comment that stuck with me a while back " Slow to hire and quick to fire" like you said, wait til your are really booked before hiring first employee. The "Quick to fire" is, if your new hire is not working out don't waste too much time trying to re -train him, etc. cut your losses and move on. Thanks for all your above average and very informative videos, Bill

I made a massive mistake two summers ago and I sub contracted way too much work from someone at way too little money. It equaled to me mowing up to 17 lawns myself on busy days and I had no helper. It was a heatwave like crazy and contributed to huge burn out and many other issues. I enjoy your videos keep up the good work!!

I’m just about ready to pull the trigger on my LLC and got nervous when my accountant started talking about tracking everything such as money in out, sales taxes and related behind scenes stuff. Any advice? Does your course go into detail about that stuff or just general advice? Is yard books powerful to handle everything an accountant would need to do his/ her part for me ? Thanks in advance.

Yardbook can handle lots of things if used correctly. Holds your customers information, help with scheduling and routing, invoicing etc. Your sales of all through Yardbook whether credit card, cash or check payments can be tracked. Your expenses would be up to you. I recommend a business checking account and have all business related expenses go through that account. It would help tremendously on the accounting part. You’re not trying to pick out business purchases from your personal account. If you have an accountant they should be able to work with your monthly or quarterly bank statements for expenses. You would need to also keep up with any licenses, insurances, LLC registration fees ones a month. Hopefully that helps and if he covers the basics in his book it will help.

I’m currently on the fence with getting help. Do you pay them by day or hourly? I do like that ideal you stated by paying daily but also think a hourly wage is best. Thanks in Advance. - Mike
