When cleaning up a plant, I learned.... If it's brown, cut it down... if it's green, don't be mean! LOL I love the little photo bombs from your furbaby!!!

Love this saying! Sorry for the delay, been a more than busy weekend and just catching up on comments now - yes, he can't resist butting in at some point, he was standing next to me and being very good until the point I pressed "record" and then he wandered off - typically! Best wishes, as always - Joel

Hi Joel, I just done some pruning myself :) Some of the bee species use VERTICAL hollow stems for building nests, so you can consider leaving a couple of those for them. Like somewhere nobody is ever looking :)

Absolutely right :) I often find earwigs in old Valerian stems so it is of course worth checking, and another reason to not prune until the Spring so that the insects have somewhere to over-winter :) Hope all is good where you are - best wishes, Joel

I have masses of geraniums in my boarders, & I SCALP them right down to the ground every year. The first time I did it I thought I had finished them off, but they came back bigger & stronger! In summer they are humming with bees .....love them👌🐝🐝🐝🐝🦋🦋

Hi Joel. I spent a good hour looking at a lot of plants on your website. If I planted the perennials this year, would they flower this year?
@WildYourGardenWithJoelAshton
@WildYourGardenWithJoelAshton 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely they will :) It's biennials, like Foxgloves, Honesty etc that will leaf-up in the first year and the second year produce flowers but the majority of perennials will flower this year - hope that's helpful - thank you for your support, best wishes, Joel

Hello! Sorry for the delay, been in Devon since Friday and only got back late last night - but yes, absolutely you can use the cuttings :) It's always best to use those stems that are not in flower and these can be planted directly into the soil in pots, and sometimes even just sand :) Hope that helps and that you're well - catch up soon, best wishes - Joel
