Always like seeing the goats 🐐 and dogs 🐕. I see the dogs keep the goats away from their food. Do you go you everyday with dog food and treat grains for the goats?

Yes on the dog food no on the treats. I only do the treats when I’m close to moving them a long distance or penning them. It helps a lot.😁😁😁

My bales for snow are all weeds especially pig weed and serisza lespadiza. Also good to wean with. They like junk hay to a cattleman

Thinking of starting to raise spanish goats on my place. Fencing is a huge outlay though.

It is the biggest outlay next to the land. I will say this, in my experience keeping them in is much easier than keeping them alive.

@@SouthWestIron No. if you don’t worm them it’s extremely difficult. If you do worm them it can still be very difficult. Think about it….the goat is a small ruminant that eats everything a cow doesn’t and will average having 1.6 babies per nannie and you can sale them for around $200. That’s a money making machine but how come most farmers and ranchers don’t raise them…..because they die very easily.😳😳

@@SouthWestIron the best thing would be if you could find someone in your area that’s doing goats successfully, then mimic them. Don’t get discouraged. Start small. Save females from within your own herd.
