I was diagnosed with 3 hernated discs 4mm which is concerned very small and i also have spinal stenosis. Its been one year since January 2024 my pain fluctuates but 24/7 i have soreness in my lower back and ive had about 3 months out of the year with less pain around a level 3 but all the other times ive been suffering about level 4 to 7 alot of days with sudden stiffness, and muscle spasms.. yesterday i had over 1000 muscle spasms in one day.. medication didnt work so i guess what im saying is that im in pain all day everyday but its not unbearable unless its a back a couple of weeks when i bend a certain way or a sudden stiffness with sever painful muscle spasms.. but most of all i can handle it but im terrified of bending over or dokng certain things because i fear its going to lock with that pain amd stiffness.. should i get injections? Ive already been through 3 months of physical therapy and ill be getting another round of treatmeant.. im just not sure when to move foward with injections or surgery since most of the time my pain is at a 3 to 4 level with a lot of bad days

Hi. I hope you are doing good. I completely understand you. I am having my second my miscrodisctomy. I had first one on L4-L5 5years ago, that disc is great now, but the same symptoms for months for L5-S1 I am having microdiscectomy next month, honestly can’t wait to be pain free again. But it’s a nightmare….I really hope you are pain free now 💪

Hi Doc, I also have a herniated disk. Have you tried an inversion table? That did the trick for me. I was struggling with this and it was affecting my life, but after about a month of inversion, I was A LOT better.

I had been doing an inversion table for a few times each day for 2-3 months. Unfortunately it only provided minimal short term relief

MRI shows broad herniated disc, having severe pain down the left leg, numbness, tingling and muscle atrophy. Started doing spinal decompression last two weeks, 3 days a week. However after each session the pain is even worst. I’ve seen an Orthopedic surgeon and he says I’m at the point of needing surgery. I opted to continue spinal depressions for another 4 weeks then go back and see him. I was in the process of becoming a personal trainer (exams around the corner). Now I’m worried that my passion for lifting, strength training and teaching may be in jeopardy. I really don’t want surgery, hoping it will go away on its own. The last 8 weeks has been hard on me.

I was in a similar situation. It's definitely best to exhaust conservative options if possible.

5 months later did your body heal itself or did you resort to the surgery?
