Great video - confirmed what I was thinking for my project. I also have researched that I should do a waterproof membrane on the portion of my job that's over a crawlspace. I haven't seen much moisture in the crawlspace to date; but if that's the right thing to do with a floor going in over a crawlspace regardless of visible/noticeable moisture or not, then that's what I'll do. Any thoughts on this?

I wouldn't do any membrane under the floor; it will make the subfloor rot. I would just address any issues in the crawlspace itself.

Do you recommend a liquid moisture barrier on glue assist or only on glue down installs? For reference I have 5 inch quartersawn white oak install going down on plywood with a dry unfinished basement below

Our flooring installer measured the damp and said we were on the low end. We did: Prime concrete Drybase DPM x2 coats SBR slurry with portland cement and then self level compound to get it flat Then he used Silkabond Rapid DPM an hour before installing the planks.

Sorry about the previous sound issues.

What do you think about stopping squeaky floors by drilling holes in strategic spots in the floor and injecting them with glue? A couple companies in my area specialize in this and I'm thinking of having it done. Replacing the existing floor entirely is not an option for me.

Its not a bad idea at all. I don't think it will be a cure all but it should help.

Great video! Is there a Liquid Moisture Barrier you can recommend when using the glue method? Thanks.👍

Why not set that nail with a properly named nailset?
@normalhuman9260Ай бұрын
Wood tab normally breaks when you try. At least that's my experience. Love my nail set for trim work,but hardwood floors either set it right,or cut it out and try again, sometimes the board has to be replaced. I could be wrong with larger tabs though,I know from 3" to 5" the tend to warp and break if using a nail set.

@@lumberjackhardwood I am so glad you responded too. After I gave my answer, I was hoping you would either agree,or at least not feel as if I were stepping on your toes by answering. Love the channel btw. You all do great work.
