This video really spoke to me today. I want to share with you my answers at the time I moved my Nanny into senior living. NOTE: She declined and ultimately passed away 6 months later. I’m so thankful she was surrounded by caregivers who loved her and she wasn’t alone. Im so glad I made my decision when I did. ❤️ Go check out the short video for the questions 1) Phone: YES.... and YESSSS. In the end, though she could call a number, her cognitive ability to follow a phone convo and her extreme short term memory caused us to take her cell phone. It was causing more anxiety for her not less. 2) Car: Oh she could get behind the wheel, start it a go, SURE! Everyday was a gamble! 3) Healthy Meals: Yes, she was still good in this category but eating very little at a time. 4) Home: ehhh tidy but “cleaning” was a big chore. Keeping it tidy took her all day almost every day. Too much energy for simple tasks. 5) Meds: LOL. The ones she thought she needed at the doses she thought were correct, sure;) 6) Fall Risk: 💯💯💯. This is what finally caused her to not live at home anymore. 7) Forgetting things like to turn off stove: NO 8. Hygiene: No, but the fall risk in shower was an issue. 9) Socializing: Yes 10) Hydration: Yes Thank for a great resource, Jeff! Keep them coming!
