Thank you so much ma'am. This is a concept that is not taught specially in schools and we are expected us to know this on our own . And this concept is so kuch impotant as this is a basic rule and is used in almost every question and in everyday life.But you explained this in a specific video is really appreciable. So just wanna say thank you so much .

@learningsupport92529 ай бұрын
Try dividing 7 by 2, you have remainder 1 from previous step, no number to bring down and division is completed by using decimal point. Same in case of 71÷2, remainder 1 from previous step,no more numbers to bring down division is completed by using decimal point. But in case of 891÷22,we have 1 from previous step and 1 we bring down still 11< 22 so we use 0's table,in next step there no number which can be brought down so we use decimal now to complete the division.

Hello, glad to see your keen interest in the video Reply to your query:5 has come from previous step, actual number brought down is 6 ,so number being divided is 56 .If there is 0 from previous step and number is less than divisor then there will be 0 in the quotient.

But mam when we do 13÷2 in this we put decimal why? I mean when to put decimal and when 0 ?
@learningsupport9252 Жыл бұрын
when we do 13÷2 we first use 2×6 = 12 and we have 1 in next step, to complete the division we place 0 next to it and decimal in quotient. But if we divide 311 by 3,we do not have anything from 1st step so we bring 1 down that is less than divisor 3 so we have bring 1 more down to continue division in this case we will place 0 in the quotient .Hope this clears your doubt.

For 5100/46 , the answer is 110.8 . But in this after first subtraction we get the remainder 5 which is less than the divisor 46 . So according to this method , in this case why the answer is not 1010.8 ? Can we say for 2 digit divisor , if the remainder is less than or equal to first starting digit of divisor then we should add zero ??
@learningsupport92522 жыл бұрын
Thank you for showing interest in the video. Reply to your query: when you divide 5100 by 46 ,in first step we get remainder 5 but in this step you also bring 0 down and it becomes 50 which is greater than 46 in next step we have remainder 4 and bring next 0 down so we have 40 which is less than 46 and we have to place zero in quotient,in next step we place decimal in quotient and 0 in 40which becomes 400 and continue the division.

Hello Ma'am, 43/3 and 29/3 why 0 we need to use in quotient of the first one and not in the second one when reminder in both the cases are less than the divisor
@learningsupport92522 жыл бұрын
Hello Sudhakar,both 43/3 and 29/3 do not require 0 in the quotient , both require decimal in quotient and 0 in remainder to complete it.For example 824/4 when middle digit 2 is brought down,it is less than divisor so we bring next digit 4 down after placing 0 in quotient.Hope your doubt is cleared.

When to use this method and when not?
@learningsupport92523 ай бұрын
Example: 212÷2 , first we use 2 's table one time ,1 is brought down(we have nothing from previous step) which is less than divisor so we use 0's table and in next step we have 12 and can use 2's table 6 times. When we divide 11by 2 ,after 1 st step we have 1 and no more numbers to bring down so we use decimal point to complete the division. When we divide 247 by 13 we use 13's table one time ,in next step we have 11 and we have 7 which can be brought down to complete division without 0 or decimal.

Yes ,sure. Try dividing 5635 by 7. As for 5280/7 after bringing all the numbers down during division we have 2 as remainder and no more numbers to bring down so to complete the division we place 0 next to 2 and decimal point in quotient.

What about 21/2
@learningsupport925211 ай бұрын
Compare 21/2 and 31/2 .In 21/2 we have only 1 in 2 nd step which is less than divisor so we have to place 0 in quotient,whereas in 31/2 during 2nd step we bring one down and we have one from previous step which makes it 11 ,in next step we have 1 again but that has come from subtraction ( not by bringing next number down) so now we use decimal in quotient.

The wired thing we do is because we want to divide the remainder by 10 and see if after dividing the remainder by 10, there is a solution. Here is a different example: 6/5 remainder is 1. After adding a 0, the 1 becomes 10. And there are 2 5s in the 10. Hence, 0.2 . Therefore 1.2 is the result. Another way to look at it is: 6/5 = 5/5 + 1/5. If we divide 1 into 10 segments, we can see there are 2 5s in it. My take anyway. Just trying to explain to the kids why we need to add a zero or keep adding 0s...
@learningsupport92522 жыл бұрын
Thank you for showing interest in the video, you are right about what you have explained that is placing zero to complete the division but in my video I have explained placing zero when you still have more digits . for example try dividing 918 by 9 many students do it wrongly and write answer 12 whereas the answer is 102 . Please watch the video for detailed clarification.
