I appreciate the explanation and vocabulary. Could you show some of your other peach trees planted years ago? Thank you!

On this property I’ve only planted one year prior to this so those are just starting to bloom but on third year will be great

Will you do a video on pruning your tree so it doesn’t grow too high? I’d love some info on it how and when to do it.
@colonyhillshomestead4683 Жыл бұрын
It’ll be several months before I prune again but yes sir!

Thank you. This was informative - as was your previous video about planting a Florida King Peach tree. I have a question: are peach trees able to grow in Zone 9b?
@colonyhillshomestead4683 Жыл бұрын
O’Henry , Suncrest and topaz will grow great there. Other varieties will require more chill hours!

Informative videos. Awesome timing! It's April 9th in Central Texas Hill Country and the Costco peach already has leaves. Is it too late to plant now? Is still a bit cool right now. Thanks

Plant away my friend let’s get those roots established for production next year!!

@@colonyhillshomestead4683 Awesome thanks! Was worried the upcoming hot weather in May would be an issue. You saved me the worry. Started digging a hole as you recommended, then ran into huge rocks, yikes. Had to take a break. Start up at it again. Got my pvc pipe ready with holes. What kind of nutrients do you put in there? Like diluted Medina Hasta Gro liquid? That's a good one here in Texas.

i believe i may have messed up planting my peach tree, its about 4 .5ft tall and its not getting any taller, its been some months. what i didnt do is plant higher up to the surface, nor did i use native soil, all store soil. Now im having the problem of the leaves turning orange and falling off. Is it too late to re-plant and try to help my roots adapt before winter hits?
@colonyhillshomestead46833 ай бұрын
Too hot. Wait about a month and go for it. Make sure the hole is wide leaving room for good root growth.

I noticed your soil looks sandy? Can it survive Texas winters?

The best time to plant or prune fruit trees, is when you have the time. I've practiced this for around 45 years, works great. People make it harder than GOD intended.

Planting doesn’t always equal success but thanks for the post 🤣
