I had a hair transplant in 2018 and I started using Finasteride about 1 year after the surgery. Before that, I didn't even know it existed and no one recommended it. However, 1 year after the surgery, the top of my head started to go bald. My hair grew back in about a few months. So after 5 years, no one tells me that I was bald or that I had a hair transplant. Although there are times when I sometimes stop taking finasteride and in this case my hair starts to fall out after a few weeks or months. I know that it is not the best to stop if I want to keep my hair. and it's not healthy that I sometimes forget to take it. But I haven't noticed any side effects and I feel healthy. This year, in March, I changed my finasteride to another manufacturer's finasteride medicine, because I felt that it worked less well, and after that, as soon as I started taking the new one, it stopped for a couple of weeks my hair loss. I can only recommend it. Although I would have noticed it first and thus I would not have had to spend on a hair transplant.

Things are interesting on Dutasteride: I was on finasteride for 3.5 years and it only helped mitigate my hair loss. A regular dose of 1mg per day. I switched to DUT after 3.5 years at the age of 30. The shed I had on it was crazy. Buzzed to a zero and kept the dose for a year. After a year, I recovered 90 per cent of my hair to the point where it is not noticeable to anyone else unless I oil my hair. So, I actually have harder erections on dut whereas fin made my erections soft. I also do not experience any of the brain fog on dut. My body just tolerates dut better. Been 8 years on Dut now and have reduced dosage to twice or thrice a week.

Hi Dr. Linkov. As always, huge thanks for providing videos and information for us all! I'm curious about the side effects profile that is displayed in this video. It mentions penile shrinkage. I have personally not heard of this side effect before, unless it's relatad to the erectile dysfunction side-effect. Have you read any studies or encountered any cases with your own patients? I assumed penile shrinkage would be the effect of weaker erections, but is there actually a side effect to where the penis shrinks?

Good morning, I am 62 years old, I took 1Mg Finasteride up to 4 years ago, then my dermatologist explained to me that that dosage is useful up to the age of 50, then it no longer does anything, so having also found a prostatic enlargement of one and a half times, in agreement with the doctor who is treating me, he switched to the 5 mg dose. The only side effect already found at the lower dosage, although more manageable, has now become more evident, the difficulty in maintaining an erection and the quantity of ejaculate, reduced to almost zero...My hair loss problem remains , in the sense, I lose a lot of it with every shampoo, but I always have a lot of it, even on the top of my head, where it had thinned out slightly and on my forehead where there had been a slight receding at the hairline, a lot of baby hair had grown (yes do they call that?) who are thickening the line, the strange thing is that they are black...while I think I have 70% of my hair greying/white, but I dye it, because I have no wrinkles, except the 2 lines between the eyebrows , being 2 meters tall, slim and toned, despite doing very little physical exercise at home... (the dermatologist and the doctor claim it's all genetic, and that having brought my hair back to the color I had, I look at most 35 years old, ...in fact he still hasn't offered me Botox or fillers!! In your opinion, do you think I will be able to continue taking Finasteride, or will there be a time when it will no longer have an anti-hair loss effect? Thank you if you want to answer me, I really like your channel which I follow with interest.... I greet you cordially, Angelo
