@rodgolson5 ай бұрын
Many of his 'after' photos use closer angles and much more light. As a filmmaker, I can spot these changes between the before and after shots. Lighting is crucial for any camera use. Besides improved lighting and closer images, he has applied makeup: 1. Foundation: Evens out his skin tone, particularly where acne is healing. 2. Dewy look: While a bit too shiny, it reflects light back to the camera, minimizing unwanted features. 3. Lip color: Slightly too pink, it makes his lips fuller and more prominent, softening his appearance. 4. Concealer: Visible in the 'after' eye photos. For eye puffiness, black tea bags are effective. The caffeine reduces swelling and tightens skin, which is why it's used in cosmetics. His physique shows years of development, with muscles initially covered by a fat layer. Weight loss revealed these muscles, and returning to the gym reactivated muscle memory. Such rapid results typically aren't achievable without anabolic steroids. While he offers good advice, he omits the above factors that greatly enhanced his transformation. If he used those same techniques, consistent lighting, camera distance, and makeup in the before images the after would have shown even more subtle changes. Dr. Linkov rightly noted that much of the transformation was attitudinal. The subject's confidence is evident in how he interacts with the dog, barking back... that shows aggression. Which comes from confidence. Humans subconsciously pick up on these cues more than just physical changes. There's extensive research on how our minds process vast amounts of subconscious information, influencing our perceptions. Even dogs are highly perceptive to these subtle signals, explaining their sensitivity to our moods. Understanding this complexity takes time but leads to better decision-making and life outcomes.

Really interesting. What you said about confidence really hits home. When I was a teen (12/13), my mum told me that my nose was too big and needed to be done, she also criticised my teeth (they were crooked), after braces there was still a bit of overlap, so she told me not to smile. She then said my breasts were too large. As I grew older and had a LOT of male attention, I never trusted it. I still saw myself as a crooked teethed, wide nosed, big boobed monster. Looking back now I can see I was actually very, very attractive, and mum now says that she always thought so, but she was down. I've brought my daughter telling her how she beautiful she is and putting her own insecurities into perspective. To stop my breasts I even ended up with an eating disorder, so yes, confidence and esteem is paramount, as is gentle parenting.

Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. No, it's just that it's all fake. Bettering yourself is fine, but notice how the majority of people don't have to post it to the internet for validation and purposefully make yourself as ugly as possible before than utilize filters, lighting, and flexing facial muscles to appear as if you've entirely changed in 30 days. It's attention seeking behavior through and through. Just change yourself, no need to seek approval

As someone who is really pale on purpose, I love pale complexions. If someone is born naturally tanned or dark, that's beautiful, and they are looking to have the extra melanin protection. But when someone who is pale tries to look tanned, it usually damages the skin long term. I prefer when people take good care of their natural skin color and complexion, that's what I usually find most attractive.

Reminds me of how people gamed a fitness challenge that my gym held. Participants were ranked by most body fat percentage lost over the course of the challenge. Then the top few that reduced body fat the most were voted on by before and after transformation to determine the grand winners. The winners were people that were obviously very fit just before the challenge. They still had very big biceps and other muscles, they just looked like they bulked up on fat and water weight. They'd take a before picture with bad lighting, a frowny face and accentuate the pot belly with a skulking posture. Then at challenge end they'd take the after picture with nice lighting, nice clothes, smiles and nice posture. Easier transformation and victory for them.

I love this channel. The nice thing about “30 days” is it is not a life time. Maybe 30 days could show a person “ you can do it.” Then the person could make permanent life style changes. Also, I have found that rinsing my hair instead of always washing it works well. Shampoo all the time is too drying even the best stuff out there. I color my hair. Love the show. Thanks.

I really appreciate your insight on how much your attitude and self care can influence how you look and how people respond to you. This is especially refreshing coming from a plastic surgeon. On the other hand, your comments on weight loss and weight management reveal that you have not explored this topic fully. From a molecular standpoint, it is simple: calories in; calories out. In real life though, it is simple for some folks, yet EXTREMELY complex for others. Since your work focuses a lot on physical appearance, I would encourage you to do some more digging on the challenges that people in larger bodies face, when it comes to long term weight loss. Spoiler: It's not just about discipline.

Thank you for this post. I take a med that slows down my metabolism so I gain weight very easily. It's hard to stay positive when so many just don't understand and I'm sick to death of hearing the "calories in, calories out" rhetoric. If it was that simple I'd still be skinny.

I appreciate the honesty of "Looksmaxxing". It admits that the goal is maximum vanity. People often lie and say they are improving their appearance "for themselves". The lie is intended to convey independence and to avoid the shame of spending lots of time on pure vanity. The lie can be disproven instantly: Nobody would be doing it if they were the only person alive on earth. Be honest. It's okay that we worry about what others think of our appearance. It's part of being human.
