The "meats back on the menu" line Aqua talks about isnt as astounding as he thinks. Orcs are said to have used to be Elves but they were mutilated and transformed by dark magic. Makes sense to me that even if Orcs dont have menus, theyd still know what menus are because of their past. Not only that, but Orcs travel around. Im sure they wouldve raided pubs and cities where they would learn what a menu is.

The show is a poorly done fan fiction, for many reasons. They don’t respect the original material and have tried to make a LOTR adjacent series for a modern audience with diversity/identity politics bullshit. Not to mention, as you said, it’s corny and boring. It sounds like you agree that it’s a terrible show, so I don’t see your point. It's not even an implication, the orc is using a euphemism/colloquialism for 'we're going to murder and eat you', he's not speaking literally. We see them in the movies birthed and have a helmet and a cleaver immediately shoved in their hand and they ask who do you want me to kill. Orcs are a force of nature, that can't survive without Sauron's influence, they're not a people or a society.

Watching the review of a sweaty illiterate isn't equivalent to reading the book. The Silmarillion states they reproduce in the same way as man and elf and live as tortured servants of a master they fear and loathe. They have logistics, complex/intentional troop movements, and intelligently pursue their war. They take captives to use and learn the skills of their captives. Without Orcish society you would be entirely unable to feed, and supply these companies of Orcs, so why assume the Orcs are just roaming bands of random Orcs clumping together like a cluster of single celled organisms without thought? Getting further than 50 pages through the Silmarillion undermines basically the entirety of the common lore criticisms. If people were honest they'd just say it was boring and corny instead of acting like they have the attention span to read a discursive and disjointed fantasy book that while foundational, is ultimately boring and largely a hard read for the same reasons Rings of Power is a boring watch.

That is a horrible take. Amazon is adapting two pages of writing that covered several thousands of years but from a historical perspective. This means the POV of the information could be limited in scope, allowing Amazon to expand upon and flesh out ideas on how these events could have transpired without damaging the established lore or Canon. You claim to be a Tolkien fan, yet I don't doubt you hold peter Jackson's films as godlike. Those films, while incredible in their own right, did much to change lore from the books.
