I found some 2 inch size baby coconut on the ground next to a tree. Some green and some brown and dry. Can you grow these?

How often do you fertilize / use NPK, what fertilizers do you use?

Amazing!!! I would love to come by and see the coco trees one day. Also do you know if these were the dwarf variety?? Or were they the tall ones?? Thanks

What if I graft the tree and unfortunately live in zone 8? Additional question, how to I protect it from frost?
@Grow_Everything Жыл бұрын
To be honest, coconut palms are only hardy to around 30 degrees Fahrenheit, so growing in zone 8 is likely not possible, unless you have a heated greenhouse, or attempt growing in a window indoors as a novelty. This also can only be done while the tree is young of course. Also, to my knowledge, all palm trees (As well as, Grass, and Bamboo) are classified as monocots. which means no cambium for grafting unfortunately. Only dicots with external cambium can be successfully grafted.

Usually in hottest and rainiest time of year for your region. This year my trees flowered in early August.

Same location: planted mine in either 18 or 19. 2 “bundles” of tiny coconuts on it now 🎉.
