I think 1.4.5 may be the last major update, because they're probably gonna make terraria 2 next. I think they've actually started working on it already, which is why 1.4.5 is taking ages

they would never be able to make a good sequel to terraria just because of how iconic everything in it is, a sequel should one-up or be equal to the material before it

@frid7434 i think they could definitely make a good sequel, the developers said the goal with the sequel is to make a similar game but with a better engine and core mechanics, which sounds great

I don't think Terraria needs another update after 1.4.5 or a sequal. It honestly just needs a new engine

Yeah, I agree. TLDR: What if Terraria 2 is just an engine update and we've been bamboozled all along? One of the major 'selling points' for Terraria 2 is supposed to be much larger worlds. I imagine a reworked engine could accomplish that already. Add better performance scaling and a much higher ceiling for complex mods and a large portion of Terraria's technical troubles are already alleviated. More content could just be added on top of that.
