When will the next Animal Crossing Game Come Out?

I hope for the next animal crossing they will have mutiplayer games like the 3ds and a lot more minigames like in the 3ds they had a puzzle board game for example and even working part time at the cafe maybe even more part time jobs to do

Yesss I agree there was more to do in New Leaf and we had no Multiplayer minigames for friends in New Horizons so people had to make their own so yeah we NEED that in the next game

You know, even if they did make the next Animal Crossing game, where do you think the game will take place? Since New Horizon takes place in the desert island, New Leaf takes place in Town, Pocket Camp takes place in the Campsite, City Folk takes place on the outskirts of the city, Wild World and Animal Crossing GameCube take place in a remote village. So where exactly would they place the game next? What if they took us to a bustling seaside community, with markets and adventurous beach activities? Perhaps a fantasy-themed realm with magical creatures like unicorn, pegasus, griffin, fairies, or even a dragon and enchanted landscapes in the kingdom ruled by the ruler or even an enchanted forest? How about a charming countryside where players can cultivate farms and interact with rural villagers? Or a snowy mountain village where we could own cozy cabins and wander through winter wonderland areas with winter tools like skating or mountain climber devices? Could the next game explore a more futuristic setting, perhaps in a town with advanced technology and unique transportation methods? Or perhap Bintendo might take us to outer space where we could reside on the planet and live in our own spaceship? Imagine the new interactions and events that could arise from such a backdrop! And what about the cultural influences? Would a game set in a different country or region bring new characters, festivals, and items? How might the game's mechanics change to reflect that environment? Where exactly would they place the game next, and how would that choice impact the overall gameplay experience? Would it create new opportunities for social interactions and community building? These questions make me wonder: where exactly do you think they will place the game next? What kind of experiences do you hope to see unfold in this new game?

I wish they would do an update that would give the villagers more personality 😅.... One of the main reasons I could never get into the game 😩

Yeah I totally agree the villagers are pretty flat in this game compared to previous ones and it makes the single player moments feel more lonely than before...

I am wondering if it will be announced along with the new switch. I'm happy to wait! I just want a finished game and for them to listen to fans, especially when it comes to quality of life and multiplayer.

Yes I agree, I would love to see it announced at the same time as the Switchs Successor because even just the confirmation its coming soon would bring me joy! But yes it'll be worth the wait I'm sure they'll want to polish this one more before release, or at least I hope so! 🤞🥰❤️

I’m curious how Nintendo will top New Horizions. I didn’t play New Horizions, but I know enough about it to know how much changed. Going from upkeeping a small town, to being able to colonize an entire archipelago. How can they top that? Don’t forget the DLC that made it so that you could technically play Happy Home Designer too!

So true! I think theres still improvements to make but honestly they wont have to add too much to the next game if they keep what they've done and just add to it could be the best Animal Crossing yet! 🥰❤️

They could start with adding a personality back into the characters, Individual likes, more progressing relationships. It's just missing so much of the charm from previous games.

I think it will be very achievable to top new horizons, I and many people were very disappointed with new horizons. If you want some ideas on how it could be better I recommend the make believe series made by thebitblock. It was made to be a render exploring what a Wii u game could look like, but I think it still stands very well today

You mentioned that it was nearly seven years between New Leaf and New Horizons. Don't forget that Animal Crossing Pocket Camp released for mobile devices in November 2017, so it was really only 4 years and 5 months after New Leaf that we saw another Animal Crossing game. And then after Pocket Camp it was 2 years and 4 months until New Horizons came out. We are due for another Animal Crossing game!

That's true! I mean I didn't consider it because to me it's a spin off BUT it did take alot of developers attention and work away from working on New Horizons so a very good point to make! ❤️

I think the amount of time depends on the amount of effort they put into the game. New Horizons took a long time probably because of that, and if they are going to put even more effort and stuff into the next game, it might take longer.

I would argue that Animal Crossing Pocket Camp should also be counted in the AC timeline. Instead of a 7 year gap between the 3DS release in 2013 and the Switch release in 2020, the Pocket Camp release in 2017 sits slap bang in the middle. So yeah, every 3 or 4 years, there is a new AC crossing. I blame COVID for the delay in the Switch 2 release for the new AC.
