Another wonderful video my friend. I'm at 11 rank 3's. 1 of them due to absolutely absurd luck in the recent 7 hour crystal event as I formed 3 T4C. I agree with what you said about the way the offers have changed and overall become better for players. The current event for example is pretty cool if you really want the new champ, you can get him and a ton of other stuff along the way. For me personally, spending is way down, but also being an almost 10 year player the "need to have feeling" just isn't the same for me anymore. I'm just nowhere near competitive enough in BG's to try ro push my limits. Having said this, I love the place where I'm at now in the game. Alliance, Friends, Rosters ability to counter new challenges, Spending when I want to have a little fun and so on.

What’s interesting is we actually know what’s requires for Rank 5 7* (it could change), although technically we’ve seen our first rank 4 7*, which is Emma Frost. There was a whole accident that happened. ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKWVdqZog7p1l8Usi=nOJktSXUXMvwmUag ) - link to KT1 video, I can’t find the exact forum post but Kabam Crashed did respond which you can find on Maex video covering that topic. ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYeXXqFmnNehoKcsi=MadoV-_Gfxclaave ) So for rank 5, as you saw, we need 3x-t5a as the new catalyst. Which means, both rank 4 and rank 5 for 7* only require basis catalysts. Meaning rank 6 might require t8b (since t4a and t5a are introduce one rank separation, you can assume same for t7b and t8b), along with t7cc (I initially thought this was going to be for rank 5 but it doesn’t seem to be the case, although it could change.) Making rank 6 the only in the rank for 7* to require two new catalysts since each one previously only require one new one. So what doe it all mean? I’m not entirely sure, what’s scary is the inclusion of any fragments of t7b in banquet crystal, since it is the only new resource we are missing to rank up 7* (to next rank), I also can’t see Kabam holding onto rank 4 for that much longer either since top whale are almost at a full deck of rank 3 in BG deck. I could see upward of 5 total Summoners getting their first official rank 4 by the end of banquet event, it’s what I’m hoping for at the most. In the rank rewards as opposed to having fragments in banquet crystals. When we can get the first rank 4 through contents, I can’t see anything major that’s around the corner to warrant that big of a rewards. I also don’t imagine any Everest content anytime soon. The latest I can imagine is 9.2 which is 6 months out, put us around summer sales, even then, I see like 1 full tier 7 basic at most from 9.2, we need three to rank up. It’s really difficult to place it. It’s a head scratcher for sure.

Just for comparison as someone who is either a big dolphin or a small whale, once I decide who to use the saga gem on I’ll be at 20 r3s. That’s without doing any incursions or high tier war and necropolis completion but not exploration.

7 myself.. also quite the big spending since the Jul 4th before last.. I'm thinking that 9.2 will give the first whiff of T7B with the materials for the rankup coming from the next piece of everest content, and possibly more T7B from 9.3 completion/exploration. Where do you reconcile the relevance of the physical amount of champions in the game at the point of 7 star release/R3 Campo? I always figured that, back in the day, the crystals had to come out more slowly (4/5/6*'s) because there was a lesser pool, and therefore people would collect and dupe champions more easily, leading to boredom and a loss of value (financial and otherwise) in the respective awakening gems. At the release of 7 stars there had to be circa 250 champs in the game, so with a bigger back catalogue, Kabam have more champs to fall back on and release to keep things interesting for the player, and the amount of R3's can be balanced out because theres a much wider champion pool available for people to pick a counter from? Hope this makes sense, just a thought.

Great insights as always, Campo. I really enjoy hearing the perspectives of those who have played this game longer & at a higher level. Personally, 7* r3s came a bit too quickly. Just look at all the posts on various platforms talking about roster gaps. I do like the way things have mellowed out. ATM, I have 9 r3s, just to clarify. I do think your r4 timeline sounds reasonable & and I am hoping it won't be a cyber/banquet s**tshow. Guess we'll know in a month or 2... keep up the great content

with 9.1 being the next released content and how it usually go, i can def imagine 9.4/act 9 exploration happen to be late next year too. So that can be the perfect time to release r4 mat, like 2 t7b in act 9 exploration, 1 t7b from crucible, etc... Still...as f2p i only have 8 r3s atm, due to my luck in reunion event so i def dont wanna see r4 anytime soon haha

Would love to see an updated version of this video after this cyber event has handed out as many as 12 more r3s for those who whaled out. And we all know that is who progression is based on. If the whales get bored with r3s that means r4s are right around the corner. Am already seeing full decks (30 champs) of r3s in battlegrounds since this event and its not even over yet with banquet coming up!

Hopefully soon. Same, since 7's were released, I stopped using resources to rank 6*s. If I had a rank up gem, ok but otherwise why bother when they'll be obsolete. May as well get a jump on things especially since I'm F2P. If we see rank 4's, that just means as a FTP, R3's are going to be that much easier.

Yeah I still rank a 6 star occasionally but agree mostly only if there is a gem. Some of my ascended 6 stars are still go to’s, that might not be true when rank 4’s are kicking around in the 7 stars

Well done. R4 mat will show up this year for sure. If you look at the roster of the top whales, they are close to filling the whole BG deck with R3. Kabam has to keep them engaged. Now that crucible is a huge success, I could see the next crucible to have a bit of R4 mat also.

I've stopped Rank 5ing champs with materials, because of this looming. I'd rather R2 a 7 star at this time. But some of my favorite champs I still use as 6 stars.

Historically, the last several items except for 7r3 gems themselves (t3a, t6b, t6cc) all came out for whales first and then immediately followed up with content for non spenders, so I am just going off that.
