I can't believe the number of these that drew yellows. They for the most part were deliberate and couldn't possibly been seen as legitimate attempts at a soccer play. They should without question be straight reds. Poor officiating - when things like that are happening you have to assert your authority and let the players know in no uncertain terms that you won't tolerate it.

That's what referees are supposed to do in football, misbehavior is the own responsibility of the players, referees aren't their carers, plus they could easily get dragged into those fights. Also showing cards usually helps to deescalate these situations, some referees when they approch they just get in the middle showing one.
