While you are raising a boy you are raising someone's boyfriend, husband, significant other or life partner. Teach and discuss the examples shown in this vid at the earliest appropriate opportunity. If you don't teach boys early someone else will teach them later. Being proactive pays huge dividends.

I did teach this to my sons. One day I heard my 2 sons and a group of friends looking through their yearbooks calling some girls ‘Ho’s’. I walk out to them to discuss this because I was pissed. I go out to lecture them on shaming women for having sex, but mot men, and how they were raised better than that. They say, no men are Ho’s too mom. I ask which of the guys are Ho’s then…? They all turn and look at my youngest son, including his girlfriend. To which he says, “Dude, that’s my MOM!” Thankfully, he’s over that phase. 😂

My son is almost 36, and since he was about 13, he's constantly delighted me with his quiet self-respect and assertiveness, and not tolerating fools (he got that from both me AND his dad!). He's the nicest, warmest person you could meet, but he stands up for himself if he has to, with quiet determination. He inspires respect. Considering that he's gay, I am THRILLED that he is that kind of no-nonsense person!

The one about growing more and more real as I age is right on the damn money -- I'm almost 63, I don't have time to waste, and even less patience with unmitigated fools.

8:20 To rephrase what James said to Renegade, "If you meet an asshole, you met an asshole. "But, if everyone you meet is am asshole, the odds are good that the asshole is you." 11:35 "Jail is to men what life is to so many women..." This actually is why "Straight" men fear Gay men. They're afraid they will be treated the same way THEY act.

Some of these are worth thinking of, but I heartily dislike the nuclear family bashing. I grew up in a nuclear family with a father who did his share. Mum very much wore the trousers in my family, but both worked and both took care of us and did the chores. We had issues, of course, because people are not perfect. But this nuclear family stood us well, my sister and me.

I'm 56 and divorced once and have met someone extremely special and we have a son. For 15 years I thought about my first marriage what happened what didn't happen what did I do what didn't I do. Then I read some books on relationships. The title of my favorite slips me now, but when I think back over the books I've read one major thing seems to crop up. Which is seen, IMO at 4:20 "why I don't help my wife" and the thing that gets me is that over and over and over and over ad nauseam is that MEN need to be the one's to change. But like that bit @ 4:20 it's all about men doing sh!t which are domestic chores. Where are the other domestic chores? Changing the oil in the car, shoveling snow @ 0 dark thirty at 40 below, or mow the lawn to include trimming, bagging, putting trash to the curb etc etc etc. Now I get men could do with change, but to sit and think that women don't need to change or be different is such bull sh!t. If men need to be more aware of their feelings or the feelings of others why aren't women charged with don't be such a cry baby just suck it up and drive on, or why bring it up if you don't want suggestions on fixing it. etc etc etc. Been in this house of ours for 2 years now, I cook, I do laundry, I don't clean as often as I should, I do the shopping, if she goes I don't let her go alone I shoulder the chore with her. I've yet to see her mow the grass, turn a wrench to fix something, pick up a hammer and nails and put something back together why" why is it that the male is the only one that needs updating. I get that the point of this video is the "NO" means "NO" concept and that men need to figue that the he!! out. But women need updating just as much as men.
@PS-qn4oz
@PS-qn4oz Ай бұрын
It's like a venn diagram. Aim for that. Certain tasks will fall to each person according to their abilities and interests. If you resent her for doing less than you, tell her. What do women "need updating" about, in your opinion?
@johnjacobjinglehimerschmid3555
@johnjacobjinglehimerschmid3555 Ай бұрын
@@PS-qn4oz I am not advocating that women need updating. I'm commenting on how society will tell us that it's men who need to change how they see their surroundings. Instead of it's not me helping her when I do the dishes because I make them dirty too so I need to do dishes as well. It's the unspoken that it's men who need to update how they act and what they do because women are more in tune or whatever. I'm just dismayed that in all the books on relationships that I've read, to try and understand what went on in my 1st marriage that the prevailing theme was man not so good man needs to change. So the bit @ 4:20 was more like where's the corollary where it states ... I need to mow the grass too because I like a clean neat yard. I need to shovel the snow at o'dark 30 because I know I like being able to get my car out of the garage after a blizzard. Or hell it's my hairspray clogging up the bathroom vent fan maybe I could take it out, tear it apart and get it working again. I've lived my life trying to set examples for my 2 daughters that there are no men jobs and no women jobs just jobs. That if you expect your man to do dishes or laundry, or whatever expectations you have of him. Then you damn sure better find out his expectations of you and you do them with the same vigor you expect of him.
@xxinda

@@johnjacobjinglehimerschmid3555 Nobody should need updating. But what you are mentioning about mowing the lawn, changing oil etc. you have to keep in mind that it depends where you live. In a lot of countries around the world women are still not allowed to do these things even if they wanted to. Then there are other countries where this has been normal already for centuries. It's all a matter of perspective. Surely you can see that. Your own personal situation is not the base for everyone around the world.

@@johnjacobjinglehimerschmid3555 Looks like somebody NEEDS to get a clue. Women ALREADY know what men expect of them, thanks. It's the "sitting on their ass playing vidiot games while women do everything" attitude that has to change. Women have learned to do all the things you mention; in our house it's ME who does all the minor repairs/shovels snow/ deals with tradesmen, etc. But men DEFINITELY NEED to step up their housework game and their childcare game; it takes two people to raise kids properly, but most men have abdicated that responsibility entirely. You lot will do ANYTHING to maintain the patriarchal status quo because it benefits YOU. Now that women are turning away from relationship and childbearing and learning to go it solo, men are going to get a SHARP wake-up call from REALITY.

I like the bit @ 4:20 I've said many of the same things. However, what I notice is that there is no corollary for the HVF. The wife who gets out and mows the lawn, shovels the snow, changes the oil, where is it?

i am here and do more work around the house than my husband. plus i do the cleaning and the cooking. his idea of repairs around the house is using the phone and calling the repair man. i shovel the snow, i fix broken items, i build and repair. in fact, all the tools we own are mine.

@@sharons8690 Don't know what to tell you. This isn't about how much one does or doesn't do it's about how much society seems to tell that it's only women or are well adjusted, and that men need to change. Far as your situation. If you're happy then well what does it matter. If you're not then you two need to be talking and understanding where the other stands on things. To be honest I only fix the stuff around my house when I can because I can. If I could afford it .... I pay for handy man as well. I've got such a perfectionist streak in me that I loathe if I screw it up.

I've been single most of my life, and divorced nine years now and not looking to replace him. I have always mowed the lawn, replaced broken windows, fix plumbing and install new fixtures, maintain my off-grid solar power system, and occasionally help a goat deliver her kid. Today I worked on my dirt road, filling in ruts left by heavy rain last week. Men are not looking for women like me. I have a mind of my own and don't need a man around to do things for me, which seems to be a huge turn off. I would love to have a partner who respects me and doesn't make dumb jokes about me being a lesbian (I'm not gay, not that there's anything wrong with that). I'm 62 and don't miss having a man baby around who spent his days off drinking until he passed out, and blaming his alcoholism on me. He cheated on me the whole 15 years we were married, but that was my fault too. I "didn't put out" enough according to him. I knew he was getting it on the side, so for the last year we were married I let him know I don't want to share his girlfriends' VD. He told me I was crazy and imagining things... just before he left and moved in with his girlfriend. Good riddance to bad rubbish! Now I never have to "put out" again!

Your "arguments" would probably be downvoted because there would be little to no actual truth or logic in them, just stereotypes and fallacies. And since I did not see any of the posts making anything that could let alone should be argued against, I don't know why you feel that any arguments need to be made in the first place.

If they show a video with a particular theme I don't like, I simply move on and wait for the next upload. Not every channel is going to hasve a centrist viewpoint. Some lean either way.

That's just natural. Men hate paying child support, women hate sexual assault and being told it never happened.
