If Matthew 24 29 is not speaking of the second coming then where in the bible is it ?

Thank you for the comment. I'm going to ask you before providing a short answer: did you watch the other videos in this series because my quick answer will be expanded upon in them. I will provide the links below. The short answer to your question revolves around verses 32-35: ""Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near - at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away." (Matthew 24:32-35). Jesus gave a time frame for whatever he talked about before: it would occur before that generation would pass away (in other words within 30-40 years). Now either Jesus was speaking the truth here, and what we have is a discussion of the destruction of Jerusalem (see Matthew 24:1-3), or Jesus lied here because he hasn't come again yet, and the Bible is false. Just because we see the phrase 'coming in the clouds' in scripture doesn't always mean the second coming, for that phrase was used symbolically to refer to God and judgment in the Old Testament (see Psalms 68:4, Jeremiah 4:13). In the writings of the apostles, when we see the second coming being talked about, we see one other thing talked about too: the finality of judgment on the living and the dead, and the destruction of this present universe (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9, 2 Peter 3:1-12). So that is my short answer. If you wish to discuss this further, we can, but if you haven't listened to our other lessons on this chapter, I kindly request that you do before discussing this again, as most questions are answered there.
