Actual 100% rustfree, Already did full new bushes, arms, welded plates all the known spots, got a shorter diff with a drexel and KW Clubsport V3. Next is brakes, and off to getting a cage done.

I'm wondering if the transmission differences are because of this car being an M50 non-Vanos, supposedly BMW made the transmissions shift differently for those to compensate for the lack of torque. The used transmissions you were finding were likely from later E36's with the M50 Vanos engine, which is quite a bit more common.

I liked this video, but the race car build is what I'm here for, so if I have to choose please do more race car stuff. Love the humor, editing and that the uploads are frequent. Restoring old E36s would be fun to watch, but on a completely different level: a no money concerned complete rebuild with underside restoration, full suspension, full interior, full repaint etc. Showing upgrade options where possible. I can't see how that would be profitable for you guys, unless one of you has a dream car that needs a complete rebuild, then yes, please monetize the process.

Hmmm we used a lot of Dasty (a degreaser mainly). Special carpet cleaner from Colormatic, and mostly a water vacuum. Oh and colormatic plastic spray

Well, seeing someone else take up welding jacking points and crusty sills, might give anyone else a kick that has their sad e36 on jackstands waiting for this to be done, so it would be a sort of community service by you if you'd restore the red 318. However, I would completely understand and support if you did not go through it because it is a terrible idea and will keep getting worse before it gets better 😂

Yeah for sure the rust is the biggest issue, but then again it's also the most boring to watch by far. The rest should be RELATIVELY simple to restore, the rest of the car is really good. But yeah, I think for now we'll put it in the corner and move on with the other big project.
