If you do another episode like this Menards has a brand of power tools they carry as well that I would like to see tested. I think they are called Masterforce
@TorqueTestChannel4 ай бұрын
Actually had Masterforce in our carts when making this episode. The small compact with battery and charger was $217 or $194 with rebate. The larger mid torque was $220/196 as a kit. Neither seemed to compare as directly as the $60-70 tools we had already bought. Not ruling it out though, they could be good and well justify being more expensive than these.

@TorqueTestChannel4 ай бұрын
Ya know it's funny, they have a couple very good high torque options and a great small impact driver. When we say they don't have a real mid torque people point at this tool we test here, when we say they don't really have a compact people also point at this same tool. It's both and neither, and in any light it's not great. They need to put a 3/8" drive on the hercules impact driver then make an actual mid torque between the size/weight of a DCF891 and M18 2962 then the market would freak out.

Yup, there were 3 things holding me back from going full send on Hercules stuff. 1. I had a very weird experience with their chargers hissing at me. 2. The disappointment in the wimpy lug nut removal (I tried the bauer and it's slightly worse but painfully loud). And 3. They don't stroke my ego enough. I ended up getting a craftsman impact (that TTC recommend) on black Friday or something like that and I am quite happy about it and I honestly think the batteries look sick and the tools look pretty good. I know it's a stupid to like a tool for the look but hay people pay an arm and a leg for red colored stackable boxes from milwaukee so I can justify my shade of red. Everything is brushless now, there’s a new mid torque and high torque, both come with 4.0 batteries and 2A chargers. On top of that, all the batteries have built in USB A and C ports, support USB C PD in and out, and the 4.0 got a $10 price cut to $45 on its own. Very respectable pricing imo, especially considering the USB portion. Most other brands don’t even come down to $45 for a 4.0 and you’ll have to spend at least $40 on a USB adapter tool.

Comparing imperial for imperial + metric vs. metric for imperial + metric would be interesting, to me. It would be different for interval vs. external. My expectation is that metric is better for sockets and wrenches and imperial is better for hex keys, but seeing the results (maybe compared, as well, to a Metrinch set) would be interesting.

What would a "recommendation" be for a weekend warrior doing work on their own cars who doesn't want to spend Milwaukee money on an impact be? Light engine work, brakes, tires. That kind of stuff.

Enjoyed the comparison and would like to see how grizzly cordless tools stack up

I would be curious to see that new house brand Klutch KLiQ brushless impacts at Northern Tool. They have a mid torque that looks like a lot of these offerings, plus a 3/8 compact, and a 1,000ftlbs high torque

I tell you what. If I did not already load up on M12 and M18 Milwaukee power tools over the past year, and I saw these Hyper Tough tests back then, I might of just bought the Hyper Tough. I am a weekend warrior in the garage and honestly do NOT need Milwaukee power tools to do the work thar I usually do. I would of prob still bought the M18 mid torque 1/2 impact and the high torque DeWalt but all the other M12 stubby impacts I bought I prob would of past on them. Now I see the GEN 2 M12 stubby's are out and now I would love to buy at least the 3/8 or 1/3" version but again I can not justify the purchase. I do love my M12 1/4" impact driver though, prob one of my best buys and it gets used EVERY day at my job and I really love it.

That HyperTough is being clearanced for $49. $6 for the 3 yr extended warranty. I was wondering if I could get an impact cheap enough to keep in the car for a lug wrench. Hmmm

I’d like to see TTC build an “all the beans” pack for that hypertough and see which tools benefit most from it

A brand called kinchrome and the cheapy camping shop (super cheap auto) have their own branded version of those summit tools (SCA is now selling kinchrome branded ones now it seems) that tool and battery platform can be gound around the internet under other names, they seem to be another einhell assuming einhell dont make these tools too Edit: this is in australia, cant speak for other countries but id assume they all have their own versions of this tool too

Have you ever tested any of the Parkside Performance brushless impact drivers/wrenches sold by Lidl? They are quite big here in Europe for people on a budget, and their biggest impact wrench advertise a torque of a whopping 1900nm while loosening and 1350nm tightening. They also sell a 12v wrench similar to the Milwaukee Stubby, for just 40 euros. Seems to good to be true, so might be interesting to test those!

We need the diehard impact from advanced auto parts

Love the video! I have one suggestion for audio, where you could combine both audio channels (Left and right) or make the audio mono on the clips where you test impact wrenches. Because currently it makes a very uncomfortable ASMR-like sound on either ear that feels awful for headphone users. Thank you, and keep up with the good work :)

Walmart is upgrading to name brand and can get 20v 2ah tools for $20 kit. They are bad tools but picked up the sawzaw and sander

Walmart hyper tough everything is very cheap feeling and personally I stay away. Now their Hart stuff seems decent for the DIYer. And yes I include cordless, corded and even hand tools in both of those opinions.

1st off, "chooch" AVe would be proud. 2nd can you do a torque test with a 17mm - 19mm socket? i understand that using the same size for all tests is a must, but it gives a false real world reading. a 500nm rated tool don't take off wheel bolts at 180nm in the real world. no one is interested in forward power, we use a torque wrench, its taking stuff off we want.
