I dont have a mother in law anymore, but I know how this feels. I am blessed with two girls, but I always get the question from the in laws or family when the third baby will come. I had a very diffucult miscarriage during the time my dear grandmother was dying from cancer. I also struggled with a very heavy depression after giving birth to my second daughter. Its not just having baby's, its way more then that. I hope this will not effect her relationship with her husband ❤

The whole point of getting married is to have a child. It’s natural for a mother-in-law to want grandkids.
@rozhin60553 жыл бұрын
@@marydoe8961 No? That's definitely not why me or many other women want to get married. What is wrong with you? Grandma can wish for a grandkid but she has no right forcing her kid or daughter in law to have one! A child is a huge responsibility, you can't just breed just cause you want to or you're told to! Bringing a child into this world is just selfish behaviour, especially when one is not ready to raise one.

All jokes aside, really make sure if a person wants to have kids or not before you get with them if you want to have kids. Having kids is no joke and could negatively impact a couple’s relationship if done without both’s consent. Having a kid is birthing a new soul and should be taken seriously

The foreign (or Western) cultures not pressuring or asking women to have babies is big nonsense. Maybe he speaks from his own experience as a man. But many Western/Non-Korean women get the pressure and question. It's unfortunately universal.

“In foreign countries they don’t pressure the married couple with the baby talk” Slav countries: 👁👄👁
@lunalu5522 жыл бұрын
I don't know what foreign countries they are talking about. Because it happens pretty much everywhere. It's just that in western countries people are starting to get educated about the matter and mind their own business. Maybe Scandinavian/north european countries are the only ones where this isn't so normal.

I used to dislike that question from anyone before having a baby.For some reason it’s more annoying coming from ones in laws.I did not know or expect that Korean grandparents could be pushy about grandkids.Shes right about being financially stable first.Even one baby is expensive, and where I live there is no free childcare. Babies are time and energy consuming, and personal time and space becomes limited,so better be ready before having one.I can’t imagine having more than one right now.

What the hell why ask her to make babies????? Who are you tell her to have children. Parents takes time to get ready to have children because it's going to be a lot work esp the jobs. Having babies is not easy because mother needs to be home like 24 hours. Too much if you are not ready. Don't do it. :( best for right time.

Christ calm down, the MIL is being naggy and annoying but she's not forcing her to do it, no one can really do that. And there's a whole host of facilities that help young parents in Korea, there's even a free daycare for working parents. She may not want kids now, that's her right but Jesus, it's also the parents' right to say that they want a grandchild (doesn't mean you have to listen but doesn't mean they're encroaching on your life). Getting sick of you entitled kids

Probably as 'Asian thing' I hear it quite often around me, especially from the older generation (I'm Asian btw) Even my parent ever mention that a couple should have a kid to look more like a family. whattt.... 🙄 why can't a couple just enjoy their time between themselves. Afterall people are getting married because of the love they had for one another, and not for the sake of having a kid. Maybe why younger couple these days prefer to move out after their marriage to avoid having constant conflict.

The jeon I do not understand. You cut food into bite size pieces, coat with egg and or flour and then cook each piece. Who invented such a labor intensive way to cook and eat? I get the rice, soup, namul, meat and fish, cutting the fruit prettily so the dead can eat it but I don’t get jeon. If I was making the table there would be none of that. I almost wonder if that is the meal the night before the way are eating so much of what they are cooking?

Actually not so. Mixed race kids from soldier’s were actually treated terribly. In some cases there was higher chance of physical violence against them. It’s part why so many babies were adopted out internationally and it started In the 50’s. Kids from multicultural families have it hard still. It’s encouraging to see a family accepting of a foreign DIL.
