I started polish sanding the high friction parts on new guns to mimic breaking them in, and it has proven to be worth it. Nothing drastic, but just some of sharp machined edges and ramps. I had purchased 2 identical handguns. One for carry, the other for home. I was running the carry gun all the time and it slowly broke in and found its groove nicely, while the other stayed factory stiff. I polished the parts on that one and got it to running just like the other, and thats what started that protocol for me.

Make sure you mark (put a little scratch on it) on your cam pin so you can put it back in the same direction every time.

No.9 & Mobil 1, is all I use! But I own a piston gun, runs clean & cool, after 2 mags of steel cased, I can take the b-carrier out and clean it with 1 Kleenex , bolt car. w/slightly warm, I was sold.

I never thought I would see the day when Reid FINALLY bought into the gun lube market 😂 That EWL30 is too good not to like folks.

Any new purchase, checking feed ramps and gas block/pins should be on the list as well to ensure roll pins and/or set screws are tight. If you’re really comfortable, removing the barrel to ensure some grease/anti seize on the barrel and upper receiver where it attaches is imperative if you ever plan on replacing the barrel, free floating Handguards, etc NO LOCTITE ANYWHERE (except maybe on your optic mount screws)

What happened to the grease Reid? You move somewhere cold? ;) I love grease in the summer, but oil in the winter.

When my wife and I were in the dating she thought I used cologne after the gun range to cover up gun powder smell. She didn’t know at the time it was hoppes #9

“I like the chemicals“, my man! How often should you swab out the gas tube?

The pressure cleans it out every time you fire.
@JenkinsStevenD4 жыл бұрын
It happens every time you pull the trigger with one in the chamber. Think of it this way, there are 5.56 suppressors that don't come with cleaning instructions because the pressure is supposed to blow out the shite.

Clean the end of the gas tube in the upper where the charging handle is especially if the powder is corrosive (most rounds are not). But that’s only for deep cleanings.
