Note to new gun owners: A good weapon mounted light on your rifle is a MUST. Most violent encounters happen in low light, and you need to positively identify what you're shooting at (and not shoot your teenage daughter sneaking back in from being out late). I would even prioritize this over an optic. Many will suggest getting a light with as much lumens/candela as possible. Hope that helps.

Limit lumen to 200 t0 300 lumen and color rendering index to around 2700k, too high lumen and there's a chance reflected light will bounce off surfaces and blind you, too high color rendering index colors become harder to distinguish under low light such as blue green and brown. In addition higher powered lights increases bulk and shorter run times that may run low on you at the worst possible time.

I find it funny that the 2A community is a lot more caring and accepting with open arms to people who have condemned that same community for years on end and are even giving them content to better protect themselves with no hard feelings whatsoever. I wonder when this Coronavirus Pandemic is over, will they look at us differently and be more open and accepting of our (gun owners) hobbies and lifestyle or will they go back to being anti-gun hating hypocrites? Great video nonetheless and I will always support the 2A and I’m always proud to have Magpul as an essential part of our community!

Once you get the Safety aspect and the fundamentals of the firearm down you will get great enjoyment going to the range and shooting (or your backyard providing you have a safe area to shoot and you don't T off your neighbors). And, as he said, always test fire your weapon. I had an AR back in the day with a 1:9 twist barrel. It should've stabilized 62 gr LAP rounds (M855). It did not, in fact, stabilize them. 500 rounds of XM856 unuseable. Keyholing at 50 yards and a 6" group at 100. Mind you it was doing 2" groups at 100. Now, by back in the day I mean I bought the barrel a few years ago, then bought a new AR. I still have that barrel, ive since cut/crowned/threaded/redrilled it at 17" for a sort of Colt 605 look on a flat top upper.

Wish that Magpul made a fixed metal sight based upon your fully adjustable design. I ran the tactical C-More mount with built-in M16A2 rear sight years ago and like to co-witness full time. I also like to sight the rifle with the irons and then bench sight the red dot afterwards. Really like and trust the products based upon past experience. USN 1990-1996, ARG, LHA-3, LPD-9

A sling is to a rifle as a holster is to a handgun. It is an essential piece of kit that will allow you to take your hands off of your weapon to perform administrative tasks. If snag hazards are an issue, what I use, ghetto as it is, is a wide rubber band around the stock to retain the loose end of the sling.

Those 60 round stick mags are faaaar worse than a magpul drum. Stick with magpul magazines or steel USGI mags. Lancer is another company who makes great mags. If you want high capacity that feeds reliably, then get the Magpul 40 rounders. Mine are always flawless.

Carry that rifle in your house at all times. Sleep with that rifle learn how to take it apart in the dark learn how to use it in the dark the more you do these things the more you’ll get used to it. I did not spend 26 years in the army and not learn anything I learned a lot about this weapon I could take apart blindfolded if I have to. It is not a toy and I would be careful about telling everybody you have one. There’s a lot else I can say but not right now. When I was in the army I went to the field and I stuff this weapon in my sleeping bag with me so nobody would take it. Get intimate with it because it will one day save your ass.

Treat every weapon as if it was loaded, never point your weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot, keep your finger straight and a long the reciever. AND DONT BUY ANY FUCKING ACCESSORIES UNTIL YOU BECOME ACCURATE. SKILL WILL ALWAYS TRUMP FLASHY ACCESSORIES. MAGPUL WILL NOT MAKE YOU A BETTER SHOT

Shame on you . You just turned a informative piece into a political piece with your starting comments. So if your firearms upgrade parts manufacturer are you on the side of the Radical Rights movement or on the sensible side. By the way I'm a Democratically sensible firearms owner who will stand up for the Constitution the way it's supposed to be & that's for all Americans.

Wrong the 2nd amendment was created as a standin for an absent police force in the colonies and frontier. It was also to protect landowners. Even in boston rifles could not be kept in the home. The tyranny aspect is both secondary and debunked by data and hindsight. Historical accuracy is important. Good video though!

I have a fair amont of Magpul equipment, but your opening comments pretty much suck! The only uncertainy here is, how many more people are going to die because of the stupidity of the man in the White House, and any other office holder that blatantly ignores good medical and scientific advice. The 2nd will have nothing to do with it! Most anyone else who feels a need to address our current situation with a firearm should probably be thrown in jail. Owning a firearm does not give you the right to try to intimidate your fellow law-abiding citizens! As decribed in our Declaration of Independence, our inalienable rights are LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Notice life is first, and our President is doing a very poor job in that regard. Everthing else in the Constitution is just an agreement among ourselves on how we choose to govern ourselves . . . and that can and does change. (If you diagree with that statement, try telling your wife that, like when the Constitution was passed, she can no longer vote. Please post her response to KZbin when you do. ;-)
