Best to learn to catch the chord changes to start your riff makes a massive difference I think. Just find the root note of the change to start, the rest seems to be the same

Happy part: consider doing it in key of C, so the same Am pentatonic notes are used as your minor loop. Seems it would be more instructive and “eye opening” to the beginner. Just a suggestion…

Yip I’ve done this before and was my intention tbh. I had to use existing loops I had because my cable broke 😂
