actually if you do better on korea I think it's because of the climbpath, you see on most maps the climbing path of the 2 teams tend to head right to the battlefield(or at least they collide) where as korea they lead to the opposite side of the battlefield, this leads to less pressure on each team and those said teams beeing more deluted and the lightning doesn't like pressure it needs to get in a advantageous position otherwise it will snowball and you'll be catched relatively fast (excuse my bad english I'm french and trying my best)

Because that's precisely what it was designed for. At the height of the cold war, the Soviets were testing a brand new weapon in top-secret facilities in Siberia: Rick Astley. Astley appeared from the outside to be a handsome British pop star but would be used to bring about the end of civilization as we know it. His hit song, "Never Gonna Give You Up", contained several memetic triggers that implanted a memetic virus in the memory of anyone who listened to it. Top tip, the Lightning is the only plane that can “supercruise” at Mach 1.04 on the deck. This is a great trick to use when trying to carry matches as you can conserve fuel.

By the way, remember that the lighting is very air-drifty so when you are turning at an enemy, you may still be going in the same direction as you were like a second ago even if ur nose is pointing at the enemy, which causes the bullets to (slide) towards where you were going earlier.

People need to remember that despite its appearance, the lightning has a (notched) delta wing. It bleeds a huge amount of speed because it can pull really high angles of attack. This does mean you can turnfight 9.7s and up, sometimes even migs. Just never use flaps in a turnfight unless you're stalling, they make it almost impossible to roll. I actually kinda enjoy full uptiers as long as it isnt PhantomFest because of the high speed and delta wing.

can you please do a video on the harrier GR1? ive played a lot of games in it and im fairly good (most games i get 1-2 kills) but can you please make a video explaining HOW im supposed to kill an enemy when everything i face is faster than me (i have 2km range AAM's and a phantom can literally outrun them from 600m away. im not joking this actually happened my missile didnt even have the range to hit him) turns better than me has better missiles than me so if nothing else im asking you to at least highlight the fact that it is now very hard to do well in because being at 10.0 it constantly fights 10.7 (just going to say this now. i have heard people saying "just climb" but because i fight 10.7 every game AND half of those games im fighting Americans with radar missiles and i dont get RWR or chaff. yea you can imagine how well that goes)

Let's be honest this thing is fast there's a couple of other planes that are unrealistically fast but this one isnt. Problem with this jet is that you are forced into low altitude because of aim 7 sparrows at high altitude the EEL is easily able to tangle with anything really high up, but the radar missiles make that pretty much impossible. Despite that though its pretty good better than f104 better or equal to early mig 21s and it can outturn phantoms all day. Cons NO AMMO lol

The reason you need extra lead is not because they are further back, but because they are mounted extremely low down on the aircraft. That's what makes low-slung cannons hard to aim. Otherwise most aircraft with wing-mounted guns would have the similar issues.

The flight model on this thing is so wack. Biggest single vertical fin on an aircraft and two ventral fins to ensure high lateral stability and then thing still wobbles about like a bus when you try to maneuver with it. Ironic when you compare it to the Mig 21SMT which was hated by piltots because the fuel spine raised the CG so much the thing became practically unflyable because it had no lateral stability yet in WT it flies like a dream. Still think it should probably be a 10.0 aircraft though. The thing is kinematically better than literally anything else at 9.7 (and arguably most 10.0s) by a country mile and its typical opponents are just no threat because you can just step on the gas and leave them in the dust.

EEL has 1/2 the drag of an F4 and with less weight and more power the Phantom was a truck compared to an EEL In reality they were more comparable to the F' teens without the avionics and missile systems, many F15's have been in the gun sights of an EEL. The Saudi F53 version was capable of mach 3.

The Lightning was never intended to dog fight, it was designed to intercept Soviet Bombers that would appear on UK radar with very little time between detection & dropping nuclear weapons. Hence it was close in to the UK & advanced (& heavy) radar wasn't needed because it would be vectored to attack by ground control. Lots of power to get high & fast very quickly, no endurance wasn't a problem because it added weight & it didn't need the extra range because the enemy would be pretty close to the bases Lightnings operated from.

The red tops do best at high altitudes (what they were designed for). They were never meant for low down dogfighting unlike the r60 and aim9j. They were always meant for shooting down high altitude jet bombers hence why they have more explosives in them than most IR missiles.

@@Spitflyer 100%, this may be my patriotism, but I think the Lightning is actually fairly good compared to its contemporaries, stuff from 1965, but top tier is so compressed that a decade and a half worth of aircraft are all facing each other

@@The-ch1rz Yeah I have to agree... considering the best missiles before 1965 were pretty much redtops and firestreaks, being superior in my opinion to the early sidewinders like the B-D. I mean from what I understand the Firestreak and Redtop are fairly held back in game. The Firestreak was always listed as a 15G missile, with a seeker as good if not better than the Aim-9E but twice the range (8km vs 4.2km), a little bit faster and a far larger war head, did I mention it could be slaved to radar? This missile came out only 1 year after the Aim-9B and predates the E. The Redtop was an even better firestreak with some sources listing its max overload as 20Gs, an even better seeker (limited all aspect against supersonic targets), even more range (12km) and an even bigger warhead. Needless to say Gaijin messed it up, when the firestreak was first added it was made the worse missile. Given a pitiful 5G overload (despite the documentation putting it at triple that), worse range and far too much drag. The Redtop is going through this same issue now, with its G load capped at 16Gs and its drag far too high, stops it even achieving its max range.

The GR.1 gives them all a pretty bad rep with those 4 sraams, but I feel like the GR.3 is a different beast that has to choose its targets more selectively rather than just brawling it up in the first furball it comes across.
