Happy 2023. This was a nice addition to my 2023. I had a white llama and this is the best llama that I have seen. I would like to try it but I think I need to work a bit more with easier armature projects. Thank you.

This was really interesting and I loved the outcome. I’m amazed at your expertise Philippa. I feel I’ll never get there sometimes. I made your mouse and toadstool and was really happy with the result since I’m a beginner. I then tried to do one of your sheep tutorials with the grey Wensleydale locks. A massive fail but I’ve learned that less wool means more chance of succeeding. My son loves the toadstool and mouse and I asked him about the sheep. He asked me what is it? Savage.😂
@feltsbyphilippa2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's savage, mine say nice cat when it's a dog! 🙈. Honestly just keep practicing when you can, lots of free tutorials so look at as many felters as possible, little tips really help, thanks for watching ❣️

I was curious about this topic and whether to try kits at all since you can often get much more in new supplies than with the cost of the kit but now I know they can also be like a mini course book or any other learning tool. Thanks for sharing.
@feltsbyphilippa2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I thinkvi learn something from each of these kits, it might be just a small technique that could make a difference on your future felts. In person would be better but more expensive, thanks for watching ❣️

I'm very new to felting so I've been focusing on the kits but I did wonder recently if I would always make things from kits once I got better. It's like you read my mind and confirmed my thoughts! I believe I will always enjoy kits. I do like the tip about using heat with a mini flat iron to flatten ears. Thanks!
@feltsbyphilippa2 жыл бұрын
Yes, really gets lovely flat ears. Even now, I am looking at the Highland Cow kit at world of wool despite the fact I have made lots, definitely worth trying the odd kit, keeps it fresh x
@dawnmason23782 жыл бұрын
Brilliant job. I just hate armature, must practice some.
@feltsbyphilippa2 жыл бұрын
Practice definitely helps but you don't have to use armature, some felters don't use it at all x
@StarwaveFelting Жыл бұрын
I guess I'm just not good at making realistic animals, but I've bought two World of Wool kits, wolf and Unicorn, and they both turned out really bad (especially the wolf. It looked nothing like the picture on the box). Instead of throwing them away, I used them as bases to make a fantasy wolf and a fiery Unicorn (both based on video game characters) and was a lot happier with the results. The WoW kits definitely taught me a couple of new techniques. Unfortunately I don't think that I will be buying any of their kits again.
@feltsbyphilippa Жыл бұрын
They are quite challenging pieces and the wire isn't very good, well done for doing them and turning them into pieces you are happy with xx
