I don't really do mountain biking per se, but, I've gone many miles doing "regular" biking (biking on the highway and city streets and stuff) without major incident until August of last year. I was making a turn, hit a patch of loose rocks at like. 15, 16 MPH, and down I went. I got scraped up pretty bad on the side(?) of my right forearm and my left knee. I was basically crippled for multiple weeks until the injuries could fully heal. Nowadays, those injuries are just scars. small in comparison to the wounds that were there, but they're quite a reminder of the dangers one can face whilst biking. I still ride, but MUCH more carefully than before. Like, if I was careful before, I am even more so now. so, there's my little tale.

The timing on this is crazy. I had shoulder surgery in August and just did my first ride today. Basically all armored up riding easy flow trails. Gotta start somewhere. It felt like I was rediscovering mountain biking. Great feeling.

Tried to impale myself on my handlebar at Sugar mountain and wound up in a Trauma center for internal bleeding. 4 months after that OTB on a step up at BHM and wound up with an AC seperation... After that i bought an e-bike. Turning 50 sucks but I'm never gonna quit riding.

The Fear is real. I had a really bad crash a little over 20 years ago. I fractured my neck in 2 places, broke my jaw, dislocated my left shoulder, broke 3 ribs. And somehow ended up with road rash on the right side of my face and right arm. I still get nervous hitting big jumps

I feel this. My first 2 major injuries happened in the span of three months last year. fractured a couple of ribs while trying to do a jump line in September and broke my collar bone skiing in December. I had to get a metal plate for the collar bone. I am just now trying to get back to riding.
