When I did a Brazil save in FM 2019 I would search a max domestic release clause of 250k. This brought forward a load of 15 and 16 year olds who had not yet signed professional deals. By the time I left my team 3 years later I went from a relegation battle to the best youth teams in the country and a side with the oldest player being 24 winning copa L and the league. I spent a total of £25mil over the 3 years. Since I started my save (i have played 5 years since) they have sold 27 players for £10m+ each. It may have been removed in 2020 but deffo worth a look.

For the Compensation vs proper transfer part, another important part is that the Compensation comes with a "15% from profit of next sale" clause, so if you're running a team of buying youngsters for nothing to develop and sell them for a lot of money, you can avoid losing that 15% for a little higher fee.

@@ZealandonYT nothing particular, it's just a standard medium with big European leagues (and Scotland just to see if Rangers win the league) a few South American leagues (Argentina, Brazil Colombia) and then sometimes I'll put in some of the far eastern leagues and the MLS. I think what's worked so well for me is that at the start of every season I'll do a search for 15-16 years olds from particular nations, since I know someone somewhere will want to know eventually I'll put them below and give them a rating on my experience with them from 1 to 10, keep in mind they're mostly going to be 6+ because I've dropped nations I don't find good players from, I might also give explanations on some as to why I look there and what kinds of players tend to pop up most frequently (apologies for how long this is already but it's all for the good of the community) First nation: always the nation of my club (varies but will always slightly improve on its normal rating) Next: Argentina and Brazil (usually your best bets for wonderkids) I find as a rule Argentina produces more quality central players and Brazil produces better wingers and wing backs but it's not hard set. I notice they don't produce top level defenders at the same rate as midfielders and attackers though. Rating: 10/10 Then: Portugal, Spain, Italy and The Netherlands (Holland) (next best options for wonderkids) I find most of my midfield and a lot of my centre backs here Portugal produces good players all round mostly, but never good CBs for as long as I've tried and I don't know why Spain tends to throw out very technically adept players, lots of great deeper midfield players (CMs and DMs primarily). Italy is centre back heaven, most saves I have at least 2 in the squad from Italy, the types tend to change around but often they're very strong and usually have exceptional mentals, Italy also produces a lot of my FBs and WBs and some really good AMs and DMs occasionally The Netherlands is a strange one, they produce really good attacking players, Strikers, AMs (wide and central) and CMs who play higher (Advanced Playmakers, Mezzalas and the like) as well as good centre backs, but rarely do I find good FBs, WBs and DMs there. Often the Dutch players are very well rounded without being stand out anywhere particularly, though they're usually a bit better physically than the other 2 nations. Rating: 10/10 Continuing: Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovnia (FM Geek territory here) These nations tend to be some of the best outside of Italy for centre backs. Serbia particularly is great for big physical defenders and DMs, and often very quick Wingers. Bosnia is similar with big strong players, but these are usually CBs and Strikers instead, Croatia is the same with CBs but they're not always as physical, they tend to have better technicals, and also Croatia will produce good DMs, CMs and AMs frequently. Rating: 9/10 I'll be more concise now onward Other European Nations: Northern Ireland (Family ties but honestly solid) France, Germany, England, Scotland, Switzerland and Austria No particular positions here mostly but France produces very physical players I've noticed Rating: 7.5/10 Other South American Nations: Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Peru. Venezuela honestly surprises me because it's probably the best of this bunch which is odd because IRL they're likely the worst of the group (which is not really a bad thing, they're good teams) I note these players will always tend to have great balance, agility and stamina Rating:7/10 African Nations: South Africa, Cameroon, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia Nigeria, Ghana, Cote D'ivoire and Burkina Faso. Stamina through the roof here usually, South Africa is my favourite of these, but all of them will throw out great players, Strikers are in good supply here, my current Striker is Cameroonian actually Rating:7/10 Asian Nations: Japan, China, both Koreas, Saudi Arabia Players in these regions do tend to have good control and balance and agility. China seems the best by far for CBs out of these, as the others rarely produce any of top quality, but seem better in the attacking positions Rating: 6.5/10 AND FINALLY North American nations: USA, Canada and Mexico Mexico is the stand out here most positions are covered normally but CBs are hard come by Mexico Rating:7 The US and Canada don't tend to produce as much top quality talent but it's still there if you want to find it, Canada only really produces Strikers and Wingers of class, while the US seems more broad, but never really brings through good FBs WBs and forward thinking CMs and AMs US and Canada Rating:6 If you've gotten this far I applaud you because I've not even been able to write this all in one go, I know it's wordy and probably over done but I feel like I've imparted all of my scouting tips here, feel free to use them at your leisure, all I ask is a small mention if you do find it useful and turn it into a video at any point

Also keep in mind that this is all speculative. I don't have the FM code or anything, but I do find this generally holds true throughout my saves, and has done since FM19, which is when I started doing this regularly

Couple of questions, do you need all these regions loaded as Playable to scout them? I've never understood how the db affects scouting. Also, how do Scouting Packages (or whatever they're called) work with this? On a bitter side-note, I play Newcastle and Brexit ruins everything. Great video though!

Just bought a 17 year old Guy from Nigeria about 3,000. Actual market value 6 years later: 1.5 Million IT really works!!

Scouted this Hungarian kid as Chelsea at the start of a new save now I’m begging he doesn’t go up in value before the embargo is lifted (he’s got at least 4* potential)

A mate and I have a running joke that we call finding young players for cheap is "time for random Scandinavians". Goes back to champ manager.

I won the champions league first season 2019/2020 with Celtic... Leo Sane 2.6 million release clause goes up to 20 million in value after one season. I didn't spend outrageously I've just created the best tactic 👌

Club Brugge Is a very fun save! I had an a great time managing them back in FM16 Lost the Europa League final 3 years in a row though.

Do you need to have loaded West Africa database? I usually dont find any players in that region. Although, Egypt provided me with some outstanding regens (I had best right wing-back in Europe before his 22nd birthday and I've signed him from Pyramids for under 100k at age of 17).

Surprised you didn't mention south Korea and Japan and sometimes China. Cheap players and really good, alaway follow international tournaments

Interesting topic! However, I tried starting a game with the database including every player in Africa and can still not find a single one of the players you mention in the video. Is there a reasonable explanation anyone can offer?

@@ZealandonYT No, I mean i cannot physically find any of the players you provide as examples. And I have them specifically selected in the database.
