this is definitely one of my most looked forward to lens releases. the 7artisans 35/0.95 was fantastic and i was really hoping the 50/0.95 would be at least as good.

I really liked the full bicycle images. Those were the standouts for me - and the very large aperture really counts when you're at a bit of a distance and still want to create a big background separation. Very nice. It looks like the ttartisan is sharper and more contrasty wide-open. But you'd hope so for more than twice the price - and of course it's bigger. This 7artisan is definitely on my radar now. I shot a Pentax MX for decades so I'm very comfortable with an all manual shooting style. And the old design of this lens only further helps to give it a 'film look.' Just a small criticism: I found your discussion of focal lengths and mounts rather confusing. Were you saying that the Viltrox is actually a 33mm for APSC? And surely the 50mm lenses give an approximately 75mm equivalent on APSC - not 85mm? Just a bit confused around that part of the vid. I finally chose the ttartisan 50mm f1.2. It's cheap as dirt. It's an APSC lens so it's very small and lightweight for a portrait lens on my Fujifilm XE1 and is at least as sharp and contrasty wide open as their 50mm f0.95. Definitely more than the '70s Nikkor 50mm f1.4 I'd been using before. But for the price, this 7artisans 50mm f0.95 is a real option for more extreme bokeh and even lower light photography.

Great portraits. Most of them really shot at F 0.95 ? I think, faces don’t need to be so razor sharp anyway. Smartphones even offer filters nowadays to make the skin look more beautiful. That happens naturally at 0.95. I just ordered this lens ( but for my Fuji X camera ) and I am very curious about it.

Mil gracias!
@edpavez3 жыл бұрын

Gracias Edo!

for the eos m with the 50 0.95 , you should et a grip for it and add a monitor and its so good , it feels like a waist level view finder

The EOS M6mk2 has a flip screen monitor that you can use to shoot comfortably from the waist! :D

@edpavez3 жыл бұрын
Hoy me arrepiento. Saludos!

When you need light you'll be ok with a f1.4, because light transmision of this lens is almost the same. This lens is when you need bokeh.

If you write “M Mount”, everybody will think of the Leica M Mount and not the Canon EF-M Mount.
