LOL on the dirt transfer line! Whenever I dig the intro song from O Brother Where Art Thou pops into my head with the lyric: "...There ain't no short-handled shovels..." In the Big Rock Candy Mountains, The jails are made of tin. And you can walk right out again, As soon as you are in. There ain't no short-handled shovels, No axes, saws nor picks, I'm bound to stay Where you sleep all day, Where they hung the jerk That invented work In the Big Rock Candy Mountains.

In a 'Perfect' world with endless resources.. wouldn't it be nice to remain totally * authentic* 😊 On my own home I had to make some practical choices. For instance.. I went with custom wood Anderson windows to maintain the old Cape Cod sea captain look.. but I used composition wood for an entry way floor. As I get older I just can't keep up with all the wood maintenance... both labor and expense wise. I had put in a lovely wood railing... but that finally got to be too much to maintain. Now I have a composit railing... which is way more expensive than the plastic stuff.. but I'll never have to replace it again in my lifetime. Choices Choices.😊

I highly recommend Milwaukee Torch blades for your sawzall for metal cutting. They are fantastic. I used to go through regular metal cutting blades mighty fast, until I bought a package of Torch blades. I'm still on the original blade! This job reminds me of the porch deck I just replaced on my house. The original was so termite-chewed I stepped through some 2x6s. Now it's all treated wood, and I'm pretty sure it could handle that one ton pallet jack.

I know Al likes Milk products (I'm sold on the air Nailers, never had a liking for their blades. Next month and Nov are when you get the deals at H.D. on tools. Buy cheaper and try "DIABLO". This is the time that most contractors buy their new tools. I used the demo blade on my kitchen remodel job, it worked great. Had a friend brick in a door opening that I removed. He used a Diablo blade (type ?) (not a cutting wheel) to cut the mortar joints out and reinstall the bricks. We had some places that needed pointed, he cut the mortar out and reset the bricks. This was very clean, neat and fast. Ken keep a open mind on this you have nothing to lose, maybe Al can learn from you.

Afternoon Ken why don’t you use the Gator or Geco siding spacers so one man can hold and fit the siding and the siding is fit at the correct spacing that you pre set. Al used a pair when he did the siding on the harvest house you built for him? I thought that you were going to put the concrete pads at the correct height so the 6 x 6s would sit directly on top of the m not putting the pads down at ground level and building up with something else? Sorry about all the questions.😊😊

Demo Dan and his guy show wisdom by wearing masks. For this those do work! The structures age warrants caution from lead based paint. Playing skin the bunny as soon as you get home and a immediate shower may be smart as well. That's an interesting way you have of pouring concrete. You be the judge. A thought for you Ken, from a guy that's in your same generation. You've led a vigorous life and are stronger today than most men our age. Gerontologist love us because we're aren't feeble people. Yet a slip could cause you to break your neck! I lost a friend like this. I got a sis that is supposed to observe weight restrictions but nobody is going to stop her from doing anything. It's wrong to try to do that. But take your time and you will find by thinking things out for a second you will get more done than most. You're not competing against anybody other than a clock. With your experience you will always be on top for speed and quality. I don't claim to be any smarter than anybody else. But I'm real good at remembering all the stupid things I've done and I'm lucky enough to have survived to be able to. I want to see not just part II but more videos of yours.
