Alissa Fulkerson I find with sephora you really have to be specific and picky to get the help you actually need, they've upped their commission since a couple years ago so they're pretty hovery now. But if you know what you want, ask for that one specific thing, and make it clear that if they don't have it, you're not interested in anything else. If you seem like you know what you're doing or what you want in a product the staff can be super helpful

The Sephora in JC Penny's at Valley View Mall has amazing service! I had just turned twelve and git a $25.00 gift card for my birthday, and I really needed something that was kind of a cross between BB Cream and full-on foundation. I have SUPER pale skin, and I told them I've always had issues with the foundation being too orange or looking yellow. They did some color matching, asked me and my mom about my budget, and within ten minutes, found a perfect match that was exactly what I was looking for. It was Sephora's foundation in their palest shade, and it was just $20.00. And they sent me home with a decent-sized sample of another brand! It was really one of the best service experiences I've ever had, to be honest! 👏👏👏

Lol, my sephora is actually different. If I ask for help, they will ask about my brand preference, what product is good for me in the present, and what is my price range. And if I say, I can't afford expensive makeup, they be like "Got ya gurl, we all been there, and we know what's the best for you." They show me the cheaper products that are good, and sometimes they tell me about some drugstore brand that are good too.

I normally wear makeup everyday, but once on a road trip I ran out of foundation and of course I'm not gonna wear makeup just to sit in a car all day so I went into the store bare face acne and all. The way the employees ignored me was insulting, I could obviously see them judging me and no one offered help until they noticed I had a $40 bottle of foundation in my hands. Whenever I had been in before I always had a full face of makeup on and it's disappointing how they treat you so differently without it. I'm sorry you also experienced a similar situation, some employees just don't know how to treat people.
