Here goes everyone talking about fat people. Something that needs to be set straight, is that just because you're fat doesn't mean you're unhealthy. Yes, you weigh more than you should (adding any adjectives before "more" is unnecessary). However, being fat doesn't always affect your health. I am classified as "obese" because I'm 5'3" and obviously don't weight 125 pounds. Yet, my vitals are perfect. I've been checked for diabetes, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and they have all come out normal. And I've been struggling with my weight my whole life (and I don't expect any uplifting words or any of that shit, because I know it's a lifestyle, and I know being fat is my choice because I'm afraid of change even though I know it will make my life 239857428034% better.) Anyways, I can run a mile faster than most of the skinny bitches in my class, because all they do is sit around, eat junk food, and never exercise. I, however, dance everyday, and have a semi-physically demanding job. Not to mention, I do all the work around the house. Anyway, I don't need to plead my case to anyone, because it's honestly none of your business. But, not all fat people are the same. We aren't all lazy pigs. Not gonna lie, portion control is a problem, even when it comes to veggies, white meat, and blah blah blah. It's not that I don't eat healthy, I've always loves grilled chicken, broccoli, carrots, potatos, corn, spinach, squash, salmon, etc. I just love too much of it. But, like I said, it's none of your business. So stop categorizing all fat people together, because I'm more healthy and physically in shape than a lot of these skinny bitches, under all my rolls.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm overweight, but I'm healthy. My blood pressure is good, and so are my other vitals. I was in volleyball and track from 7th to 12th grade in school, and I was in weight and speed everyday. My mile time constantly went down throughout those six years, even though I didn't lose weight. I was getting stronger, but I wasn't getting thinner. Still my own fault though, I do understand that.

Yeah. Just because we're healthy, doesn't mean we don't have unhealthy habits that have gotten or kept us where we're at. I did field in high school.And we had to run with the track players. Best believe I was in the back, but I wasn't last. My problem is portion control. I used to come home and have a huge bowl of cereal almost everyday. And when we have dinner, I take more than 1 portion (because "1 portion" is the dumbest shit I ever heard). But, I don't snack, and I don't have that problem where people go to the fridge every 10 minutes until they settle on something. But, those are my problems, and my choices. And as much as I'd like to blame it on how I was raised, I still know better.

Everyone's saying 'not every woman is beautiful'. I don't think it's about looking great in everything you wear, being super skinny, being super chunky, it's about feeling comfortable with yourself an loving yourself for who you are. We shouldn't all have to be size 0 to be loved. I'm size 10-12 and I wouldn't even say I'm thin. It doesn't matter how you look, it matters who you are as a person and how you see yourself and others. Yes, you can get to a point where you're so obese it's unhealthy. But if a person is happy to be that obese, it's nobody else's place to tell them to lose weight or change themselves.

Your heart is in the right place, but obesity causes death and health complications. You can't be happily obese. Accepting yourself isn't about a certain weight. It's just about loving yourself regardless of your weight, but being lazy and purposefully neglecting your health when you have no medical condition holding you back from being a healthy weight is just a sad excuse. Just sayin' :P It's different if it's a family member and you're worried about their health but otherwise you should just assume that they've already been told a million and a half times and they don't need to hear it again. My mom is a bit overweight but she can't do anything about it because she already eats very healthily and she has fibromyalgia--an invisible disease that makes her hurt all the time. So she can't do vigorous exercise. People look at her and judge her just like you're talking about doing to obese people. Just leave them be unless it's someone you know and care about. I know a person that was deprived of food often as a child and now he is overweight because his subconscious is still stuck in the past, worrying if he's going to be able to eat later. To everyone calling these women "obese" and saying that obesity should be frowned upon because it is unhealthy, yes while it is true that obesity can lead to health problems, there is no need to bully these women and say that their body types aren't beautiful. Self confidence and self esteem is very important and something that many women struggle with. It's hard living in a society where the "ideal" body is a skeleton. Most women can't live up to that expectation and you can't expect us too. There are many men who all love different body types when it comes to women. Some guys drool over Victoria's secret models. Some guys love short girls, some love tall girls. Some love thick girls. So just because someone's body type doesn't meet YOUR preferences doesn't mean that you should be fat or skinny shaming other girls. Yes, obesity can be unhealthy, but why not encourage them to love themselves for the way they are and the way they are made?

I agree with you, shaming them is the most fucked up thing you can do and I don't understand why people feel the need to dehumanize another person just because that person is overweight. Still, we should not tell them to keep leading an unhealthy lifestyle (if they are) and be ok with being heavily overweight. that has nothing to do with preference :/ its just a fact in life that being obese/very overweight is not good for you and should be changed for the sake of the health of your body AND mind. Everyone struggles with their self esteem, everyone has confidence issues sometimes, no matter how your body looks. nobody is perfect and nobody ever will be. but eating healthy and exercising can help SO much with making you feel good about yourself and being happy :)

Omg yes! I'm a 6 foot tall 18 year old and I'm not ashamed to say that I can not for the life of me squeeze myself into a size smaller then 14 missus. I have super long legs and wide hips, I'm not fat! And I wish that u could buy my pants in store instead of having to go online and hunt down a cheaper pair of expensive pants that can fit me and look good..... :( most women are not fat and I see a lot of people at school, size 8 skinny chicks who barely eat, say "Oh I'm so fat. I need to exercise more." Our society has essentially did what it does best, it's screwed up our own image of ourselves to where we can't see past the red tape to the real most beautiful us. Obesity must not be accepted because it damages society. It comes with a range of illnesses such as heart illnesses, joint problems, diabetes, etc. and it is the society which needs to pay the treatment in the end. Furthermore, obese people are bad role models, especially for young people. Nowadays everyone is so proud of his/her weight, that young people could the impression that being obese is OK and adapt to this unhealthy way of life. Despite all of these negative aspects, obese people and their sympathizers still FORCE us to accept their obesity, which is not only not ok but also very egoistic.

When I was a size 12, I found a lot of American and Canadian one-size-fits-all clothing (so NOT made in China) usually fit me. I’m actually wearing a one-size-fits-all nightgown right now! I bought it on a BC Ferry to Vancouver Island. If anyone who lives in BC is reading this comment, the clothing in the gift shops in BC Ferries is very high quality and well worth the price.
