Maybe in a company you cant buuut!! in my adult ballet class are some vet pro ballerinas lol who are 60/ 70 and they dance so good!! And the rest of the class enjoys listening to them talk about when they were giselle and odette...etc. so dont worry about that! :) keep dancing

I had a woman in one of my classes who was 91. She danced until a week before she passed this last spring. Dance doesn't have to have an expiration date!

This is the mindset I had and I quit after 13 years of dancing, I still regret it. There are careers for dancers out there. I wish I had stuck to it and pursued it. You definitely should

*So you're telling me I can't become a professional ballerina at 30? Guess it's time to stick to*
@klara697715 күн бұрын
No, no, you must keep going! Things change now adult ballet is spreading pretty fast, so many things are changing. A lot of dancers spend about 15/20 years more less during their childhood/teenhold and then became professional dancers. But in your case that you start late it's a bit different. However don't surrender if you truly desire to become a professional dancer and this is God's will nobody will stop you even the age, or job standards. It's time to break it. God bless you and bless your dreams and may he could helps you to understand and to improve with love and kindness to yourself ❤

I started doing ballet 14 months ago now and I'm 39. You're never too old to start!
@quizillafreak11 күн бұрын
You're actually in a better position for dancing longevity. A late starter has had way less wear and tear on ligaments etc. Starting young is an advantage in skill and learning but not for bodily development. We can argue all we want about whether it's good for young girls to dance on pointe, but the studies do definitely show damage in the long term. Starting when all your bones and ligaments are set will make it harder to condition the body to where it needs to be, but once you get it there, you will be a 'healthier' dancer than someone that started young. And yes I will die on this hill for the people that want to argue lol

I'm a hungarian folk dancer student and its the same in folk dance. We get to the professional level at 19-21 years old the the average retiring age is 29-31 so we get to be profs for 10-12 years (we usually start dancing at 2-7 years old) yes, then we can be teachers but its just not gonna be the same!😢❤
@er32758 күн бұрын
Actually, why can't you do it here? I don't think there's age limit in being folk dancer in my country.
@Tejbegríz17 күн бұрын
@@er3275Wdym? I live in Hungary. We can only learn folk dance in "folk dance" schools (idk how to translate it😂) and we have to do 8-12 grades in dance school before we can be profs! and the grades only start when u are 6 years old! So yes 18 in the dance school, but usually a dance school and a folk dance group are together. and when u finnish the dance school the u can be profs in the dance group! but while u are in the dance school u are in the dance group too!😂 Ik its a bit complicated but yh! I don't see a point in making performance art or athlete as my main source of income when I will not be the best in that industry. You start learning at a very young age and start earning money at the same age as everyone, but you need to stop your career in your 30s
@MySweetT110 күн бұрын
Could you do higher education at a slower pace while being professional with something like sport science or physical therapy where your experience would be a plus? And if you got an injury that would end your career, you would already be part of the way thru your education...

Honestly even if they have great muscle tone and is strong and stuff but the problem is moreso with the joints. The human body isnt meant to have such odd positioning for extended periods of time leading to injury and breakdown of the joints muscles and tendons in the foot of a ballerina. Its basically the same thing as with those sports ppl.
