Singer Keith Whitley had the breakout hit with this in 1988 when I was in country radio right out of college. This song brings back a FLOOD of memories from all those "first time" memories of that era. Being so familiar with Whitley's version, I wasn't sure I'd like a female voice singing this - and I don't. I LOVE IT!!!!! A job well done, gang!!

A song by Don Schlitz and Paul Overstreet. Don wrote or co-wrote 24 No. 1's and high charted 42 more. His first ever song was "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers.. He and Paul also wrote most of Randy Travis's biggest hits including the two "Song-Of-The-Year award songs. My favorite was "I Feel Lucky" by Mary Chapin Carpenter. This song has been covered by several of he biggest names in the business. The biggest was the late Keith Whitley.
