Is it that bad to try playing an instrument you don't already have that belongs to someone else? It's even better if you know another instrument and try playing your favorite tune on another instrument. I have done that, liked it, recommend it, 10/10, played Enter Sandman on a Cretan Lyra. It took me a bit to figure out the fingering and was shown how to play, after that it was only a matter of time before I succeded.

Btw, for years I tend to play from the lowest note to the highest one back-to-back on every piano that I find in the streets or in a home because that always fascinated me as a kid. And there was one time where I tried to play the intro of Muse's Space Dementia when found a decorative piano outside of a Cafe and kinda succeeding despite not really knowing how to play one.
