lots of planets orbiting small stars on the habitable zone are tidally locked (thats how its called when a face of an spacial object always faces one side to its host planet/star) since they are very close to the star the gravitational force of the star makes the planet spin every time slower until it doesn spin anymore, similar to what happens with our moon and many other moons of our solar system
