I once was dressed up strolling the halls after school (with you know a nice pair of Ariat jeans with a blingy belt and belt buckle. Flannel shirt and boots you name it. There was a reason I dressed up nicely. Can't remember why.) Came across a teacher and she said "Where's your horse?" I responded "At home." With out thinking nothing of it because he was... I think that is the most shocked I've ever seen a person!!

I was at a local Walmart, and I was making a purchase (USB thumb drives and an SD card). The employee was wearing jeans, cowgirl boots, and the way she was wearing her shirt, (under her work vest), I could tell she was a horseperson. I asked her too, and in our short conversation, I asked if she barrel raced. She said she did, and asked me, "How could I tell?" I said, "I could tell your a horseperson and I got a lucky guess." One thing I know for sure is that horsepeople can tell who is a true horseperson or who is a "country girl image" type person! You have to be a true horseperson to be able to tell if someone else is! BTW I think it would be cool to learn to barrel race. I know a lot goes into barrel racing, like going into a turn with a proper lead change, from a gallop to a canter. If the lead change is off when going into the turn, you loose time (either to wide of a turn or hit a barrel, a penalty). I want to try some English riding (jumping) I think cross-country (3-day eventing), I like the intensity of cross-country (dressage and jumping) don't have the appeal to me like cross-country does.

Lol... though this western rider rides a Haflinger, not a QH. I'm also plus- sized, so very rarely have people identify me as a rider. That's ok, my boots still have horse poop on them and my Carhartts are well- broken in. So are my Duluth fire- hose lined pants that let me ride in the snow and wind.

@@andreabustamante3443 that's awesome! Keep it up. Are you doing English, Western, or both? I grew up around horses. I did Western Pleasure/Trail, I never competed or had any formal lessons. My mom had some formal lessons for English in the mid to late 1970s. I would like to take some English lessons. My biggest regret about having horses, is that I didn't ride more, because I took having horses around for granted.

Yes! I had a girl (a sweet girl) ask me if I had "those tall black boots" I told her no that I use short boots and half chaps. She's like "I know they are so expensive I almost bought some but they were $500" she doesnt even ride.... Personally I dont think I would ever wear tall black boots for "fashion" but thats just me. I'm less fashionable I guess! 😂

I wear jingle-bob spurs for fun in public places, sometimes. They are a bit of an attention getter. The ironic thing is I've never rode horses with spurs on. I have seen women's tall dress boots called riding boots. They were being sold in a Shopko catalog!

omg once i was tacking up my trainers horse and this horse girl came up to me and said “can i help?” i asked her how she got into the stable (keep in mind i was 6 and she was 8) then she said my dad owns three horses here. i was confused because like i’m always at the stable on the weekends. i told her no because it was my trainers horse and my trainer only trusts me and my friend tacking up his horse. she literally ran off to the other side of the barn then opened the A GREEN HORSES GATE. SHE HAD THE AUDACITY TO OPEN A GREEN HORSES GATE TO PRETEND LIKE SHE OWNED IT LIKE PLS. anyways. i ran over to her because that was my friends horse! i told her to back away but she said no LIKE GIRL BYE. my friend was asking my trainer for extra lessons and i literally was trying to put pico (aka my friends horse) back into her stall! and the horse girl was freaking screaming and crying and yelling “THAT’S MY PONY!” I WAS TRYNA BRING PICO IN FOR HER DEAR LIFE BECAUSE THE HORSE GURL WAS SERIOUSLY PULLING ON THE HORSES TAIL! i literally was in shock and then my trainer came over and literally was shocked and like tryna back off the horse girl. and you guessed it, pico bucked her in the nose 👶. her dad decided to make a petition to put that horse in the slaughter house because it’s “DaNGeRoUS” that horse girl freaking got a PONY THE NEXT WEEK BECAUSE OF HER INJURY 😔

That sucks big time! She shouldn't have a pony, horse, or stick horse because of her incompetence! You did the right thing. To me (in my opinion) she's a spoiled brat that has a pony! She's absolutely NO horse person and (in my opinion, again) she's NO real horseman, horsewoman, horseperson, or horse girl! She shouldn't be allowed on the property or even around a horse! The way she acted (in my opinion) could have gotten someone or a horse or pony hurt badly, anyone with any horse sense knows that! She is reckless and that is the real problem!
