This week end, I went to Belgium, where I organised a training course, with some other nice guys (and girls). At the end of it, I had time to train myself :)
One of the very first video I uploaded on KZbin was about "handlebar is useless". Today, it is much more true :)
And again, if you want to improve your lean angle skills or you uturn skills, in order to ride safer on trafic lane, or if you want to do Moto Gymkhana, come and do a course with us:

This is so cool and brand new. I just started learning and been told numerous times that I need to stay in the friction zone to not drop my bike. But here, your hands are not even on the handlebars. Great skills man. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you :) Yes, lot of people teach this way of riding, with the friction zone. But it is linked to their handuability too : if you don't ride your bike as I am doing, you will be a little bit slower for the same radius, and then, you'll need to use the clutch. So riding as I am riding changes a lot of things. Clutch is an example, but the look is another example too ;)

I can do that on my bicycle - it's great fun. Interesting thing - the higher you sit (the higher the center of gravity), the better as you have more leverage on making the bike to lean and steer. The principle is the same for a motorcycle you just deal with more mass and power. I wouldn't attempt this on my motorcycle though (Honda CTX700D) - with its cruiser like low sititing, feet forward and slanted forks. More importantly, I love this channel because it shows riders that there's a world beyond the basic training.

Mass is not a problem here, as it "disappears", thanks to the centrifugal forces and the self balance effect of the bike, which you can see in this other video :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5LCoohrnLicp9U Problem is more with the engine, when, as you say, its rotation is not smooth :(

This is a super demonstration, I would like to try it but how did you set the speed of the bike please?
@AntiPiloteDeLigneDroite
@AntiPiloteDeLigneDroite 2 жыл бұрын
I use the Force ;) No, I just increased the minim rpm from its normal level (around 1000 rpm) to 2500 rpm, then, the bike wants to ride faster, even if I do'nt use the throttle.

How do you keep your speed without touching the throttle? Just leave it at idling rpm? Or do you have some tools to hold the throttle at a desired position?

Try getting an external mic with wind protection. It is not necessarily a costly expense. It will make your videos even better. :)

Yes ure :) but for now, we don't have a team for video lol I mean, every time it is somebody who is using is smartphone, because he looks to the event, that's all. Maybe one day? :)

is this technique using ur hip to turn? is this the same with counter steering?
@AntiPiloteDeLigneDroite
@AntiPiloteDeLigneDroite Жыл бұрын
Yes, about hip, but not only... if you initiate your lean angle with counter steering, you can hold the bike leaned with the tecchnik I am using too.

I have tried this at full lock on my drz400sm and it's seems that the high idle isn't enough to bring the bike back from full lock when releasing the rear brake. It's a tall bike so it behaves a lot different than a sport bike of course.

If you reach full lock with no hand, it is great :) getting out is the hardest point. it depends a lot on your idle, sure, but on your body too :)

funny you should mention as I've just tried going in circles with no hands on my SMS630 husqvarna today and I've found the speed was too low despite the idle raised to 2300 rpm (and we have to remember single cylinder engine has its idle already pretty high at 1700-1800 and it redlines at around 7000 rpm unlike 2 or 4 cylinder engines). it just tightens the turn so much and leans so far that it would just fall in and I wouldn't be able to counter lean my body far enough to balance the bike. I think on the shown video the bike's speed on idle is high enough and the bike low enough that the rider needs to lean inside to keep balance. In my case I'd have to lean out and the bike would still keep leaning in.

It depends on the bike... on how much the handlebar can turn. On the gsxr, it can't turn so much, so the minimum speed is faster :)
