I first encountered Lake Street Dive at an NYC broadcast of "A Prairie Home Companion" shortly after Chris Thile took over the reins. Great band. Terrific bass and lead singing.

This is not my usual cup of tea, but i saw this performance on Charlie Rose a couple nights ago and immediately fell in love with this band. They are amazing and need to be more well known.

LSD: Once and you're hooked. Their live show is AMAZING, it's one thing to see them on TV or a web video but in person they are on another level. Highly recommend seeing them if they come even near your area.

Why are people shitting on the trumpet player? In Prince’s original there are a tonne of bum notes in the solos. It adds to the texture, passion and authenticity. Note perfect can be boring. As a whole, this band are fucking epic.

As I posted on Facebook, I want to give a shout out to my favorite new group (who have a new album on the way PLUS are shortly playing in Cambridge, MA.) I believe when a woman can turn a man’s head, it has nothing to do with her looks (my quote). Case in point, Rachel Price, lead singer of Lake Street Dive. Rachel, to me, a throwback to the 40’s is by dress and demeanor, a classy lady. Call it a presence, call it an aura, she radiates! (Don’t think for a moment that i’m saying Rachel isn’t stunning, she’s just more than that!)
