As someone who has been playing Tekken for a good while, it is true what TMM is saying regarding the obvious meta that people all clamber towards. Zafina was rarely even seen in TTT2 and now she's suddenly used everywhere. But Hwoarang is still frustratingly op though. He's up there with Akuma and Zafina as the trifector of frustrating to play against.

Not exactly the best example of "cheap vs cheap". TMM is good, but not exactly good with Hwoarang. I mean, you can see him miss a lot of good combos / optimizations. Precisely because he doesn't play Hwoarang a lot. Compared to this Zafina dude who's utilizing a fuck ton of Zafina's moveset. I mean, it's just like Knee using Akuma. He has Akuma on TGO, but he's nowhere near optimal Akuma gameplay. Like, he doesn't abuse the 10f huge dmg punisher, focus attack, jump shenanigans etc. So it's not a good representation of how "cheap" Akuma is. The same goes with TMM's Hwoarang. So I don't get why people are commenting as if Zafina's much cheaper, when it's just TMM not knowing how to use Hwo's cheap as good as the other guy.

My optimistic hopium theory about why the later DLC characters all have god tier movement is because they are testing the waters for Tekken 8 and Tekken 8 will be a return to big sidesteps and backdashes because of the system mechanics and the bigger stages lol. In the reveal trailers for Kazuya/Jin the sidesteps look pretty beefy.

I used both and I can easily say Zafina is much more honest than Hwoarang. Once you learn the Zafina matchup you can play normally against her, you still have to be careful because of her backdash but other than that its not that hard to deal with her compared to Hwo. If you learn the Hwoarang matchup he'll still keep you on your toes. If you fail to duck, sidestep, sidewalk him correctly he will get either huge plus frames or a damaging launcher. I love playing him but man isn't he tiring to play against.

Zafina *FOR SURE* needs more fundamentals than Hwoarang. You still need to block, backdash, and sidestep with Zafina. With Hwo, you can just press buttons all day and win. With just 2 safe launchers on Hwo, you take the round.

Like i had met a fujin Alisa player he still only did gimmicks (d3, hopkick, snake edge (3+4) b3+4 lol and I absolutely destroyed him 3-0 twice then he left, I feel like doing really well against Alisa because I learned by fighting them alot But kunimitsu? Even if the player is trash, he can beat better players because she has range like a Soulcalibur character, kunimitsu has flashy animations making it hard to reckognize them.
