100% agree, oceania is legit pain at the moment. I know that I need to get better at the game and learn matchups better than I currently know them, but I am hard stuck red rank because I basically run into Victor and Hwoarang bullshit (and some other characters from time to time) back to back to back. Then everytime I face a high red or low purple rank Kazuya, or Lars or whoever, it’s free points because those characters cannot cheese anywhere near as much. Sometimes I just feel like picking up Devil Jin myself instead of Kazuya more seriously to beat the cheese lol

I have already stopped trying to climb any higher than Tekken god for the time being. it's exactly how TMM describes it. Decided to play quick match and learn more characters until we get an actual balance patch. You would think after years if balancing T7 this game would have been alot more balanced, but I guess adding a ingame store was more important.

Probably my biggest disappointment between T7 and T8 was removing unlimited rematches. I used to love getting blasted 10 games in a row by someone way better than me because I felt like I learned more in those matches more than any other. I can kind of understand why they changed it so it's more in line with other fighting games but as TMM mentioned in this video, Tekken is probably the worst type of game to have a FT3 format because of all the ways you can just steal a round or two with just one knowledge check (as someone how has admittedly abused the Drag 1+2 grab into launch setup a few times)

I do think devil jin is a little strong, BUT, calling him easy is a bit of a stretch, he is a bit simpler but thats just tekken 8 in general. But you can't just expect to win by playing on autopilot with devil jin

FT2 is definitely a bad move at this point. DVJ takes a huge advantage of the format. Probably my next ranked progression character got Lee, Alisa and Claudio all to Fujin, its literally like T7 genbu in here with sprinkles of mighty ruler players lol. picking the right character helps so much as well. Lee? done last, strugglebus ngl despite being my main Alisa? 59 win streak, and i don't feel like i even did anything lol Claudio? 51 win streak, had 100% ranked win rate until i finally met someone willing to challenge WR2. you get to run so much aggressive shit and no-one is allowed to figure the other person out. FT2 isn't even forced so you can run away from whoever is beating you up too, almost every ranked game never rematches, win or loss. i think making the FT2 forced or else you take a massive net point loss should be encouraged. don't log into ranked if you don't have the time for a FT2.
