I stumbled across this video and it is exactly what I am going through. My girl broke up with me about three months ago, in the beginning of the separation she still texted me but that slowly lessened. Now I find myself once and a while texting her, only to get no reply. I'll try giving her more space and following this guy's advice. Because obviously I'm not doing something right.

After me and my Ex had words where we both said some nasty things to each other I d3cided to be strong, and be civil, let go and move on. My mom abandon me at 5 my dad raised me with his mom they both died recently and my wife who was all I had left divorced me shortly after their deaths? My only sister screwed me out of some of the money from my dads estate so I had to cut her out of my life .All I have is my 2 kids now that I live for and that’s only about 30% of the time after raising them as their mother pursued her career and now is reaping the rewards as I wasted my career years trying to raise the kids and having a hard time making money being I’m almost 50 and have to start over with no school or training. I can’t believe my life turned out this way everyday I’m hurting and in stress survival mode for 2 years now , getting tired .

That makes sense about what Benjamin Franklin did. When my ex used to get mad at me no matter what I could do I could cheer up if I could get her to send me a picture of herself I would compliment her it would always start to help. that’s just one example. I used to wonder why that worked

I had to go on anti anxiety meds to get through it. A low dose SSRI can be very effective to reduce the anxiety in my experience. I couldn't cope otherwise.

Chary just remember it’s better to feel the pain and let go or it will always be in your system .i use to smoke everyday and my feelings would creep up way later when things were going good with my dude so it’s better to just ride the feelings and think of ways to justify the ending of your relationship .wether it was your fault or his all you can do is think positive even tho I know it’s the worst feeling when you break up and have invested a lot in someone you care about .

Childhoods really shape us and we have to learn by our mistakes. So true. I just dont really remember much until I was 9. I lived in another country in my childhood . I think my mom was too busy and my older sisters were left in charge.

So, my ex and I have been slowly reconnecting. I sent one of her tops back and used it as an excuse to message her. She messaged me to let me know it had arrived, so we had a short conversation, and she seemed engaged; she didn't have to say half of what she did. However, I changed the subject to keep it going, informing her that I started a new job today. She read it but didn't reply. Did she freak out, or is she worried that I'm trying to impress her? I'm assuming I should wait a few days before trying again?

I suppose so. I think when they don't answer it either means that they're not ready yet to initiate contact again, or it means that they're not interested. either way, you're just better off not texting again anytime soon. the message you wrote is there, in their phone. maybe it'll give them a reason to think about you, maybe not. let them come to their own conclusions, and let them answer when they're ready. You can't force things like that. It just might take some time. maybe a few days, maybe weeks, maybe even months. And if some time has passed and you feel like the dust on your situation has completely settled, then you can try to reach out again. if they ever were really in love with you, they'll think about you and that'll make it even more special when you contact them again. I've had a situation with a girl I dated for a few months back in 2015. she ghosted me and I was extremely upset with her. I tried to contact her a few times after the breakup, but either she ignored me, or the conversation would just fizzle out. she got in to other relationships, which of course i wasn't happy about, but there was really nothing I could do, was there? except accepting it and moving on. so I eventually got into other relationships aswell, but in the summer of 2016, after I had just broken up with another girl, I texted her again. And this time, it just worked out. this time she was happy to hear from me. enough time had passed for our old emotions to settle and give space for new emotions to grow. we met, dated, fell in love, but unfortunately we broke up again 1 month ago. I didn't contact her until yesterday, but she didn't respond yet. so I'll just have to give it more time. and maybe during that time I'll fall in love with someone else. but yeah, morale of the story is. just give it time. they won't forget you and if they ever really cared about you, and you give it enough patience they'll eventually contact you themselves or be glad that you contact them and not be bothered by it. just focus on your own life in the meantime, and if you get the chance to get back together it won't matter if they had other relationships in between. the only thing that's important is the now, neither the past, nor the future. after all, I was only able to get back together with my ex from 2015 after I had let her go completely and was indifferent towards the outcome. that's the point you want to reach. and if you realize that, now that you're indifferent, you don't even want to contact them anymore, then that's great aswell. you can only win, you see?

She's perhaps afraid that your relationship will be like the old relationship that leas to your breakup, that she's scared you're the same old guy.
