Uh, that kinda sounds like a “you” problem. You should be able to tell your friends no if you really don’t wanna play an rpg with them. If they’re really a decent friend, they’ll accept your answer. And it should be at least somewhat fun to be spending time with your friends and doing something with them. If you feel dread from being invited to play an rpg with your “friend”, maybe you just dont really see them as a friend/someone you wanna hang out with in the first place.

This is from the Hobbit animated movie from 1977. The person you are referring to is this movie's version of Bilbo Baggings. The creators of Smiling Friends took inspiration from this design and implemented it into Smiling Friends along with some other motifs from the movie.
