As a long time d&d player /forever Dm I was so intrigued by this game . After finally getting it this week and since I haven’t been able to play in a campaign in years (stuck as being DM) I decided to bring back Arkrias , a tiefling bard who I created and unfortunately died early in his campaign (session 2 😢) . After spending hours In character creation to bring Arkrias to virtual life .. he managed to nat 1 that wisdom save against the almost dead mind flayer in the emerald cove .. thus instantly dying . 10/10 game . I'd still lean toward CON, since it covers physical sleep sources (e.g., sap/blackjack, tranquilizers/poisons, etc.). I have a friend with such a bad luck. He has a lot of 1’s on everything: skill checks, attacks and damage rolls, regular dice, digital dice, random number generator. His 1’s become legendary. Once he rolled 4d8 with all 1’s. That was stupidly hilarious 😂 He is okay with that luck, he laughs about it too. But lately we gave him deck of cards - works pretty good especially when he shuffles before every “roll”.

@@LiveforHM Yeah, although they had to scrap their overly ambitious plans for the second half of the game mid development and did a rush job with the last act. This time they had a lot more resources at their disposal and decided to take all the time they need.

@@KristianKumpulaexactly! They have proven that their game development techniques work and that they are masters of the genre. Given what they had and it was a fucking kickstarter, I think DoS2 is nothing shy of a masterpiece, but BG3 is something else… it just feels amazing. Like I knew they were held back by budget and resources for DoS2… but holy shit did they come out swinging with BG3. They are the pinnacle of open beta game development. Responsive, dedicated, caring, passionate… and a respect and love for the community and those who want to MOD. Few are as deserving of their respect and recognition! And What a fucking gauntlet to throw at Bethesda’s feet one month before for their first new IPO title in a decade releases!

Walking into work and the first dialogue it gives you is the, "I'm in need of a healer," option followed by, "Mind Flayers put a tadpole in my brain," is so funny to me. It never struck me as weird in the game but you really do just go up to every Dick and Jane and say, "Yo, you know any doctor good enough to pull an alien parasite out of my skull?"

@@akamal92Not really, Disco Elysium has a core theme of struggle and self-deprivation. Something it shares with a lot of Joel's skits. I wouldn't say it's Captain obvious, because I hardly know anyone who actually knows Disco, but BG3 is big (deserved, but still).
