my mom got really sick in 2009 (she's fine now) so Thanksgiving fell to me that year... I said I was helping her out but ended up doing all of it... that backfired on me royally because now I do all the cooking for Thanksgiving and Christmas... I still ask my mom for her input on things like the candied yams and sweet potato pie but I usually get it right the first or second try... 😂😂

Lord this is so true!! I was making the dressing and my mom asked “did you put the onions, celery and bell peppers in”? Yes ma’am…..what about sage? I don’t smell any? Did you put chicken broth in it? Whew my nerves were worked!! Then said “this some good dressing “ once we started eating!! One thing she did was make me and my 2 sisters watch and help her cook so now we are great at it!! Thanks Mommy❤❤❤❤❤

I've always thought the same, that it's just for presentation. THEN I discovered smoked paprika, and Hungarian hot paprika and more. I still use the "red dust" just for color though.

@@nadriafrazier6905 You are so right about the smoked paprika. As for the hot, believe it or not I found both of them at TJ Maxx/Marshalls. I'll bet Trader Joes would have it at a decent price, or if you live near a Penzeys they have smaller sizes if you don't want to buy a big amount the first time out.
