OUR STORY SO FAR
We are Ellie and Graham.
We travel the UK in Merlin with our three little dogs, Maya, Luna and Jazz.
We are Wizard in the Wild.
Our love of the great outdoors combined with Ellie’s post-cancer complications means our home on wheels with creature comforts is a perfect solution. A great way to explore nature on good days and a cosy little bolt-hole for the others.
We bought Merlin in 2021 after six years of travel in our motor home Merv.
Whilst we enjoyed our adventures in Merv, we wanted something smaller and more nimble, so we could explore those tucked away places off the beaten track. Hence Merlin.
Initially we only used campsites, but as time goes on we are going off-grid more regularly and really loving it.
The aim of the channel is to reveal the true beauty of nature whatever the weather! We also feel it’s important to show the reality of van life, and not just the good bits when the sun is shining.
Whatever the weather, our motto is to just get out in nature. It’s good for the soul!

Love these islands and Vatersay and Barra look the finest The shops and Community Centres look wonderful - we found that on Mull and in Ardnamurchan too Castlebay was fascinating and a good idea to get near for the early ferry. Not the best of weather, but it's still beautiful. It's so hard getting stuff dry with wet dogs in a smaller campervan. Don't blame you for having a snooze when your ferry is so early. Jazz looked excited about the vegan haggis lol. Nanook loved Quorn ham and chicken too, and Wolfie just eats anything!😂

You definitely get a better class of rain in the countryside 🤣 we always end up with a bag full of soggy doggy towels in Merlin. Bet Woolfy takes a lot of drying!Jazz would eat anything. The cows could have polished the van if they had kept going, nice to be so close to nature (i think… ). Shame the weather turned but still such amazing countryside and Ellie you are right, the rain is always somehow ‘more’ when you are in the lovely country. Nice memorial to those lost. The fuel station looked like the ones from year ago. The old fashioned hardware store sounded like my type of place - always handy for nick nacks. The ferry even looked a bit spooky in the mist. 6am Ferries should be illegal. They could find the bodies with GPR I suppose but some one would have to pay. We had a neighbours daughter who was as cow. Her own mother said of her "We do not need Neighbourhood Watch we have Rachel" Is that Basil Radford? Gin is the Devil's work. I stick with Whisky. An astronomical Dad joke LOL Not getting involved in that discussion LOL. That haggis and cheese toastie looked awesome. Sad that your time is up. They will still be there next time.
